After the Grande Punto 90bhp version, Fiat is going to launch “2011 Fiat Linea T-Jet” in October 2010. No particular date has been revealed but we might see the car coming out in the middle of next month. T-Jet Linea was scheduled to launch in Aug 2010 but was slightly postponed due to unidentified reasons. On January 2010, T-Jet Linea was first showcased in Delhi. As it is the festive season, it would be the right time for FIAT to launch the car. During this period, special finance schemes will also be introduced by FIAT.
To the current versions, Fiat has made many enhancements such as turbocharged engine, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, reverse parking sensors, 0-100 kmph in just 9.2 seconds, etc. 1.4 litre turbocharged T-Jet engine is powered in Linea T-Jet which generates maximum power of 110 Bhp with maximum torque of 200 Nm. In just 9.2 seconds the car reaches 0-100 kmph and offers 120PS @5000rpm and torque of 200Nm @2500rpm. The T-Jet has a top speed of about 200 kmh and comes with 5-speed manual transmission. The car also gets more sound insulation to decrease noise emitted by the engine and the air conditioning units.
On the radiator grille, the T-jet will get the ‘T-jet’ monogram and the boot lid as well as it will run on 16-inch wheels and all four disc brakes on the top end model. Official Fiat spokesperson said, “The T-Jet will be launched in the middle of October and is expected to come in phased manner.”
Fiat Linea is already contending with models such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki SX4, Volkswagen Vento and many new models are expected in this category as well as Toyota Etios Sedan. Present Linea is obtainable in two variants Petrol version (FIRE) 1368cc with a max power of 90/6000 and max torque of 115/4500 and diesel version (Advanced Multijet) 1248cc with a max power of 93/4000 and max torque of 209/2000.
