Ministry of Manpower (MOM) published a list of Singapore public holidays in 2012. The official holiday calendar from MOM shows that New Year’s Day, Deepavali, Chinese New Year 2012, Hari Raya Haji, Hari Raya Pausa, Vesak Day, Good Friday, National Day, and Christmas Day are included in these holidays. Many countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia also celebrate Chinese New Year 2012 as a yearly official public holiday.
If any public holiday in year 2012 will take place on Sunday, then the following Monday will be a holiday. In year 2012, the New Year’s Day - 1 January and Hari Raya Puasa - 19 August take place on Sunday, so the next day, Monday, 2 Jan 2012, and 20 August will be a Public Holiday. MOM has a doubt for the date of Deepavali, 13 November 2012 that will be checked against the Indian calendar when it is available. If there will be any change in date, then it will be announced through media release that is issued by the Ministry of Manpower.
