Honda became the first automaker who has announced voluntary CO2 emissions reduction targets in 2006. Today, Honda is determined to reduce CO2 emissions which will contribute to the global climate. Honda has introduced the new model 2013 Honda Fit EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show. By introducing Fit EV, Honda has achieved an environmental leadership. The leading-edge technologies in the Fit EV improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

The electronic 'Fit EV' will come with popular Fit hatchback and this fuel vehicle includes plug-in hybrid, fuel cell-electric, gasoline-electric hybrid, and natural gas-powered models. The production and distribution of the car will be limited at the initial level. The company plans to start leasing the 123 city-mile per 1 battery electric commuter vehicle to U.S. customers. The car will have 20 kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery which will give 76 miles of city/highway range. The car is fitted with on-board 6.6 kilowatt charger that gives 3 hour recharge time.
The new model Fit EV has 92 kilowatt coaxial motor with the FCX clarity fuel cell vehicle that delivers excellent efficiency and power as well as remains silent at high speeds. As well, it comes with three-mode electric drive system, concept from the CR-Z which allows the driver to choose between normal, sport, and econ modes. The Driving meters change the color depending on the driving mode chosen like red, green, and white. The car concept has matchless LED headlights, Aerodynamic bumper, Chrome front fascia, Clear LED taillights and EV decals.
The Fit EV has a seating capacity of five people with functional and spacious cabin as it is designed to satisfy the needs of the average urban commuter. The seating surfaces are covered with bio-fabric. The Fit EV is a stylish and good looking car with interior good features. The new car will come in summer 2012 and it will be available in Blue Pearl color. This electric car has EV badges on the rear hatch and decals on the side of the vehicle otherwise the exterior dimensions of the Fit EV are identical to the gasoline powered Fit.
The other feature includes a Telematics system and driver information system that helps driver to stay in contact with their car through their phone, personal computer or remote control. It also helps to monitor or control charging and it will come equipped with a Honda satellite navigation system that gives information about the nearby charging stations. The Fit EV has an aerodynamic rear spoiler and five spoke alloy wheels. It will charge in less than 12 hours on a standard 120-volt household outlet or 6 hours from a 240-volt outlet.
You can set charging notifications and alerts to optimize charging times in the mobile application and website based on utility rates. The other thing is interactive remote permits the driver to monitor the charging and cabin temperature. Driver must be within 100 feet of the car to operate car with interactive remote. The price is not decided yet but the company is planning to keep retail price MSRP of $36,625 before any federal and state tax credits. It will be available in selected markets in California and Oregon with an estimated lease priced at $ 399 a month for 36 months lease program.
