FaceBookTwitter

Imagination of cheapest tablet is become true in India! Just few days before, Indians got good news from their government as a launch of Aakash tablet. Indian government has introduced one by one two tablets Aakash and Aakash 2 also called as Ubislate 7 for students, individuals and commercial users. The cheapest price is the main feature of Aakash tablets, which have finally gone on sale at their official webpage. Doing a comparison becomes necessary when two similar features devices are launched by one company. Comparison is the perfect solution to know about "which one is better?" Reviews about the tablets are not good due to its hardware specifications and performance, but it is good for students.

Aakash Vs Aakash 2 Tablet: Comparison of What is Same and Different?

Both tablets are the creation of London-based Company DataWind and Indian Institute of Technology Rajasthan. It is contrived by the India-based company Quad. The World’s first cheapest tablet, “Aakash tablet” has been launched on 5 October 2011 with 100,000 trial units, while second version of Aakash tablet has not been introduced yet, may be it will come in market early in January 2012. Aakash 2 (Ubislate 7) is the upgraded version of Aakash tablet so definitely it will be better than Aakash tablet. Ubislate 7 is the result of bad reviews of Aakash tablet.

Aakash is specially created to support different types of documents like (DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP, PDF), Video (MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, FLV), and audio (MP3, AAC, AC3, WAV, WMA) files. Users are able to include application for accessing YouTube video contents. Check out the comparison of Aakash and Aakash 2 as per their specifications here.

Specifications wise comparison

Operating System:

The first introduction of Aakash runs on Android 2.2 operating system, which is released with user features, developer features, API changes and bug fixes, while UbiSlate runs on upgraded Android OS, Android 2.3 for easy interface.

Processor:

UbiSlate 7 (Aakash 2) is packed with double power processor, 700 MHz processor, while Aakash has been supported by 366 MHz processor which is very slow in speed.

Camera:

In today’s era, almost all technical devices that created for communication are available with camera, so the trend of photography has been increased. Aakash 2 is supported with both front and rear camera, so users enjoy video calling and capture photo. Aakash tablet is far away from this facility.

Battery:

Reviewers are not happy with the battery life of Aakash tablet because it runs until 1.5 hours with 2100 mAh battery. Due to the complaint about battery life, developer has added 3200-mAh battery, which is better and run maximum 5 hours.

RAM:

Aakash 2 is also better in memory, as it supports 1 GB of memory, which is four times more than Aakash that has just 256 Mb of memory. Galaxy tab and iPad is also included with 1 GB of RAM, so why buy this device or Aakash when you can get 1 GB memory in Aakash 2.

Network:

Aakash is limited to the Wi-Fi network, while UbiSlate 7 supports both 3G and Wi-Fi networks. Users can also voice call with its SIM functionality, so enjoy both phone and computer facility with one device at affordable price.

Overall, Ubislate 7 is Soooooooo…. better than Aakash. The price of Aakash is 500 less compared to Ubislate 7, but to get good service and advanced features, it is not much. Aakash tablet is available in the market with the price tag of Rs, 2500/- and Aakash 2 at price of Rs 2999/-.
