Notification for the All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) 2011 has been announced by AIIMS. AIIMS stands for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, which is located in New Delhi. Applications are invited in the dictated format for AIPGMEE-2011 that will be conducted on Sunday, 09th January, 2011 by all India institutes of medical sciences. For admission under 50% seats in several Postgraduate (MD/MS/Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental Colleges in the country, All India Institute of Medical Sciences will conduct AIPGMEE 2011 Exam in the second week of January, 2011.

An Act of Parliament launched All-India Institute of Medical Sciences as an institution of national importance with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; to show a high standard of Medical Education in India; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.

The Institute contains inclusive amenities for teaching, research and patient-care. Teaching programs in medical and para-medical courses, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are conducted by AIIMS as provided in the Act. AIIMS awards its own degrees. In 42 disciplines, teaching and research are conducted. AIIMS is the leader in the field of medical research. It contains over 600 research publications in a year through its faculty and researchers. AIIMS also operates a College of Nursing and trains students for B.Sc. (Hons.), Nursing post-certificate degrees.

AIPGMEE 2011 Eligibility Criteria:

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. The candidate must contain MBBS/BDS degree from an acknowledged Medical/Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and full registration either from the Medical/Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after finishing the compulsory rotating internship. The candidates must complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized hospital on or before 31st March, 2011. The prospectus is available on the website www.aiimsexams.org. Applicants must read the prospectus before applying. Application-cum-examination fee costs Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 800/- in case of SC/St candidates).

Tentative Important Dates AIPGMEE 2011:

Online registration of application on www.aiimsexams.org: 18.10.2010 to 16.11.2010

Offline sale of application forms (by post/by hand): 18.10.2010 to 16.11.2010

Last date for applying online application: 16.11.2010 (up to 12.00 noon)

Last date for receipt of completed registration slips along with AIIMS (copy of challan form/offline applications at examination section, AIIMS): 16.11.2010 (up to 5.00 p.m.)

Please note that after the last date, application received by courier or by any other means will not be accepted, irrespective of the date of booking

AIPGMEE 2011 Application procedure:

Applicant should fill the Prospectus-cum-Application Form, which is available in the selected branches of State bank of India for the prescribed fees inclusive of examination fee that can be paid through cash payment in the favor of branches of State Bank of India. Applicant should fill the course catalogue-cum-Application Form that can be received through the speed Post/Registered Post, when they send a written request with an account payee Bank Draft for prescribed fees in favor of “AIPGMEE-2010″.

Online application: Applicants can submit their application on-line through internet. Visit www.aiimsexams.org read the prospectus and other details carefully and follow the instructions given there. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (downloaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of state bank of India. Transaction processing fee (as applicable) will be payable to the bank.

Offline application: Prospectus-cum-application form can also be received through post by sending a crossed bank draft for Rs 1050/- for general/OBC and Rs 850/- for SC/ST category, drawn in favor of the accounts officer (exams) AIPGMEE-2011.

The bank draft must be payable at New Delhi and should be valid for six months (up to March/April, 2011). The request must arrive at the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India institute of medical sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608 on or before 09th November, 2010. The address, at which application form is requisite, should be written clearly in capital letters and with pin code. The following words should be written on top of the envelope request for application form for AIPGMEE-2011.

If the address is illegible or incomplete then for delay/non-receipt of application form, AIIMS will not be responsible. Indian postal orders, money orders, cheques or cash will not be accepted for postal/counter sale.

AIPGMEE Admit Card 2011:

All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination admit card will be available online. In the first week of January 2011, it will be sent to all applicants on their email address. It will not be sent by post. Candidates are required to paste their photograph and sign at the required place on both the Admit Card and application. They need to assert their sign and photograph from Principal/Dean of the College from where they have done their MBBS/BDS.
