North East India part comprises of eight states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura that are famous for their scenic beauty. These states have varied number of triple groups which has their own separate culture. The highest percentages of Christians are living in these states. Hindi, English, Assamese, Garo, Jaintia, Khasi, Bengali, Mizo, Manipuri, Nagamese, Lepcha, Limboo, Bhutia (Sikkimese), Bhutia (Tibetan), and several other local languages are spoken throughout these eight states. The most important festivals of these states are Bihu, Jhum Cultivation, Ke Pemblang, Nongkrem, Durga Puja and Karchi Puja, which reflect the rich socio-cultural life of North-East India.

Covered by powerful Himalayan hills, the whole North-East area has become one of the most beautiful areas in South Asia in terms of attractive huge opportunities of ecotourism. These states are home to lots of wildlife parks such as Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park, which are natural World Heritage Site and also comprise another beautiful attraction like waterfalls and caves. Permission is necessary to travel in states like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland, but to visit Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura, tourist does need it.

Location:

Guwahati is one of the most important destinations in the whole Northeast. Its natural bed is the most spiritualist land of everlasting blue hills and beautiful rivers, which are famous for its tea and rich plants and fauna. It is famous for Brahmaputra River and Umananda temple, Kamakhya Temple, Assam Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Assam State Museum are best enjoyments for travelers. Kamakhya temple is one of the main attractions of Guwahati located at Nilachal Hill. The main tourist destinations of the Tezpur are Nehru Maidan, Chitralekha Udyan, The Mahabhairav Temple, Agnigarh, Da-Parbatia Bamuni Hills, The Hazara Pukhuri and Cole Park. Gol Bazaar and Kaman Chowmuhani are the commercial point of the city. Unakoti:

The meaning of Unakoti is “One less than a crore”. It is a Shiva pilgrimage site, known as the ‘Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava’ dating back to the 8th or 9th century. The statue of Shiva is about 30 feet high including an embroidered headdress that itself is 10 feet high. Around the statue of central Shiva, you can also see other rock-cut and stone images of Vishnu, Nandi, Narasimha, Ravana, Hanuman, and several unidentified deitie. Every year a very big fair, “Ashokastami Mela” is celebrated in Unakoti in the month of April.

Sikkim

Sikkim is a land of charming picturesque views and for world’s third highest mountain Kanchenjunga. It is one of the smallest states of India.
