AVA Direct Clevo X8100 gaming notebook-for the healthy wealthy and wise in more ways than one!!!
Well if one is a hardcore gamer the first thing that iwould like to tell him about the AVADirect Clevo X8100 is that this laptop in all its ways is healthy, wealthy and wise. Now, if all these three qualities in your laptop is okay with you then you can safely read on.
The first thing that you would notice when you bring your new AVADirect Clevo X8100 to your house is its size and as one of the owners stated correctly about the size of the device is -"laptop in name only." Though it is hard to describe exactly how huge the laptop is but it is certainly pretty easy to describe the bright and colorful make of the same. The laptop ships a bright, colorful 18.4-inch display with a beautiful and well-designed backflap. It weighs about 12.5 pounds without the power brick which again weighs about 15 pounds. So, be ready to shed some extra pounds in carrying the laptop around
Now, let us take a look at the technical specifications of the device. The powerful but old Intel’s i7 processor is the one that graces the device and it has a storage space of Crucial 256GB RealSSD C300 (MLC) Western Digital 640GB Scropio Blue hard disk. The ram size is an astonishing 8GB DDR3 providing 1066MHz processor speed. The most astonishing feature that all gamers look for while buying a gaming device is the graphics quality that it provides well in that aspect this one is a giant as it is adored by 2 nVidia GeForce 285 GTX graphics card or GPU’s as gamers put it.
Game performance on the AVADirect Clevo X8100 nothing less than excellent, with its dual nVidia GeForce 285 GTX mobile GPUs. Still, the graphics performance wasn't quite up to the performance of a desktop with discrete graphics. The Far Cry 2 action benchmark barely hit 20 frames per second in DirectX 10 mode at the full 1920 by 1200 resolution. The recently released Just Cause 2 fared better, reaching 35 fps with all of the eye candy pumped up (but without antialiasing enabled). If you're willing to sacrifice a little resolution and a few graphics settings, you should get good frame rates in most PC games.
Network connectivity is quite good, with gigabit ethernet, 802.11n, and Bluetooth available. It supports the latest from the Windows operating systems the Windows 7. Interestingly, the device has an HDMI port that can be used to connect the device to the HD video device like a HDTV etc. So that you can gaming in high definition.
Another important feature that will interest any gamer is the keyboard. The keyboard is excellent for typing (and gaming ofcourse), and the additional function keys—similar to Logitech's gaming-keyboard macro keys--look promising. The AVADirect even includes a lightweight macro-recording tool which makes this laptop particularly attractive for MMO players. Despite the large keyboard area, the keyboard still lacks discrete Page Down/Up and Home/End keys, though it does have a dedicated numeric keypad.
The laptop is available for $ 4000 around and is at the top if the list of pricing is considered. So thus we can conclude that the huge physicality, high cost and super specs makes the healthy wealthy and wise indeed.
