An American politician and former U.S. Marine, Basil Marceaux is the Republican candidate for governor of Tennessee. A youtube channel has been currently started by Basil Marceaux to spread his message of freedom all over the world. At present, Basil Marceaux is trying to engrave his name with the great politicians.
Eliminating handgun carry permit requirements, and instead imposing fines on anyone who doesn't have a firearm are included in the longshot candidate's platform. Plans to "remove all gold fringe flags from the state," "stop traffic stops," and "plant grass or vegetation across the state" are included in his ideas for bettering the state. His political goals include “stopping traffic stops” and “get rid of the goldfinch flags and replace them with a REAL flag with three stripes.”
One of his campaign promises is "VOTE FOR ME AND IF I WIN I WILL IMMUNE YOU FROM ALL STATE CRIMES FOR THE REST OF YOU LIFE!" Basil will address if the good people of Tennessee are wise enough to elect him as governor through his issues. Basil Marceaux said that he is pleased with the national attention he is getting for his Republican gubernatorial bid in Tennessee, even if the coverage has largely mocked the perennial candidate.
Marceaux said he knows he sounded discombobulated in the video, but notes that he had to whittle down his prepared six-minute statement, and that he was distracted by producers constantly reminding him how much time he had left. A Nashville Scene blogger proclaimed Marceaux an “Internet Superstar” and warned GOP front-runner Bill Haslam that there is a “mighty dark horse pounding toward you in the outside lane.”
Marceaux said, “I always knew it would (attention) happen because I’m sure everyone feels like me. It just takes guts”. As per the anchors, “we have given all five candidates from the major parties time to express themselves in their own words.”
His website contains a list of the 7 people and organizations he's sued (including someone for "promoting slavery at traffic stops"), along with his platform (which includes "a free gift program" under "Equal Health Care."), and a list of his hobbies (including art, reading, martial arts,and survival training). The hillbilly comedy duo Jackie Broyles and Dunlap has endorsed him on Red State Update. When a news station in Chattanooga ran Marceaux’s candidacy speech last week, he became a “superstar”.
