Recycle:

Recycling is very easy and simple. Recycling means to convert waste into reusable material. Easiest step of recycling is to have recycle bin for all the things which can be recycled such as metals, paper, and plastics. For ink cartridges, electronics, cell phones and old batteries keep a separate bin. Also watch for recycling events in the area.

Reuse:

To save resources, reusing is the most excellent way. Use the things that can be used again for the same use or for something else. Always buy in bulk and reuse your shopping bags. Avoid the use of plastic. You can use the can as a pen stand, instead of using wrapping paper decorate a bag and utilize it as a gift bag, etc.

Reduce:

Reduce or cut down the use of materials as well as purchase as little as possible. Use cloth diapers, write on both sides of paper, prepare baby food at home, switch off the light when they are not in use, hand wash the dishes; turn off tap while brushing the teeth, etc.

Plant a Tree:

Planting a tree is very important to save the environment from the effects of global warming. Tree will beautify the earth, produce oxygen and clean the air. Clean Up and Beautify:

Arrange a project to clean and beautify connecting areas in your town. You can clean the area near your house, office, etc. Get local merchants or other people to involve in donating materials.

Ride your bike:

On Earth Day, ride your bike or other forms of human powered transportation to get from place to place. This will save your money and decrease the air pollution.

Teach others about the environment:

You can teach other people about environment by giving a speech. You can give speech at local library about how to compost with worms, recite nature poems in the park, teach your colleagues how to make environmentally-friendly choices, take children to the recycling center, etc.

Arrange an Earth Day fair:

Arrange an environmental fair at school, area or street and use the raised money for restoration project of local environmental. Include artwork of children, healthy grown foods to eat, environmentally-friendly products demonstrations, children’s games made from recycled products, musicians and actors performing environmental music in the fair.

Get children to recycle their old toys and games:

Children should give their old toys and games to other younger children. Children will learn 2 things such as giving to others and about recycling and reusing. Adults can give electrical items, old clothes, books, etc to other people who can use them.

You can sing/listen “Earth Day” songs. Lots of "Earth" songs are available on the Internet, you can download them from iTunes.
