The CW Network portrays Hellcats as a coming-of-age story regarding Marti Perkins, a pre-law scholarship student at Lancer University in Memphis, Tennessee. Marti is a trendy, nervous townie with working class roots, whose world flips upside down, factually and figuratively, when her scholarship is canceled and her mother, Wanda neglects to inform her. She understands that the only way she can stay in school is by reigniting her latent teen gymnastic skills to win a place on Lancer's legendary cheerleading team, The Hellcats. She crosses paths with Savannah Monroe the upbeat captain of the cheerleading squad, along the way.

Synopsis:
Marti Perkins, a pre-law student so as to gain a scholarship and stay in school, she tries out for the cheerleading squad. After an unstable start, she finds herself at the mercy of judges and captains Alice Verdura, the injured girl resentful of being replaced and Savannah Monroe, whom Marti previously ridiculed. Marti's dream comes with the price of surviving Cheertown, the team's living quarters, and violent competition from without and within the squad.

Synopsis:
When Marti discovers Wanda in the audience at qualifiers, she is horrified and banishes her from the stadium. After Charlotte, Savannah's sister and captain of the Hellcats' rival team from Memphis Christian College, falls and suffers a serious injury, Savannah is ragged between going with her sister to the hospital and staying to compete. Savannah tells Marti her parents stopped talking to her when she decided to transfer from Memphis Christian to the secular Lancer University, forcing Marti to re-think her posture on Wanda attending qualifiers. In the interim, Lewis blasts Alice for putting all their scholarships at risk and Dan takes an interest in Savannah.
