Dario Franchitti & Ashley Judd Celebrate the win of Indy 500 (Photos)

Television news station WISH Indianpolis' Eric Halvorson photographed Judd as the Indy 500 progressed. He reportedly jumped up and ran barefoot down pit lane to hug Franchitti.

Dario Franchitti won the Indy 500 on Sunday. His wife Ashley Judd was celebrating his biggest achievement of his career with him. Winning the race was second Indy victory of Franchitti in three years. First race was won during 2007 by Franchitti. Dario's first Indy won the series during 2010. Judd received a degree from Harvard last week.

American actress Ashley Judd has played role in many films, thus she knows that it is like to perform in dramatic, suspenseful roles. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the largest theater of human drama in the world, and the Indianapolis 500 is a biggest show.

Dario only had 1.6 gallons of fuel left at the end of the Indy 500 because he was clocking it. Dario's top speed was 224.287, before slowing down to preserve fuel at the constant request of his pit crew.
According to the AP, Judd "put her hand over her head, hoping her man had enough fuel to make it" as the race neared completion.

Through the win, Chip Ganassi becomes the only team owner who wins both the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500 in the same year.

Ganassi connected Roger Penske in an elite class as two team owners to have won both the Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500, when Jamie McMurray and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates won the Daytona 500 on February 14, 2010. In the same year, any team owner had not won both of the prestigious races.

Judd graduated from the University of Kentucky a degree in French during 1990. Franchitti is also a former NASCAR driver for Chip Ganassi Racing.

In the starting grid Franchitti lined-up third and conquered the race leading a race-high 155 laps of the 200-lap event to take the victory. Scott Dixon began as the 6th position and ran in the top-10 for most of the race bringing the No. 9 Target Honda Dallara home in 5th place.

Indianapolis 500 victory is Franchitti’s 24th Indy car win and his 14th in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Franchitti took his first Indy car win at Elkhart Lake in 1998 and his first IZOD IndyCar Series win at the Milwaukee Mile in 2004.

When the race completed, Franchitti jumps to second in the IZOD IndyCar Series with 216 points while Dixon sits third with 203 points.

Round 7 of the IZOD IndyCar Series Team Target will be held at the Firestone 550K at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday, June 5 2010 (8:00 p.m. ET, VERUS).

At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Judd said as she stood in the trackside interview room, “I just kept focusing on that wonderful refrain, ‘Dario Franchitti wins the 91st Indianapolis 500. It was a refrain that played in my head all week. I was feeling very auspicious.”

Dario Franchitti said, "To win two of these things is pretty special. They showed me a list of two time winners. Those guys are legends. I said the other night, I'm just a driver, those guys are legends. I'm so lucky to be drive for Chip and Team Target, getting in good cars, especially having gone away after we won in '07. To be invited back was pretty cool. To have won a championship and an Indy 500, I didn't expect any of this."

Judd said, “My papa Judd owned the Ashland filling station, and his favorite driver was Al Unser."
