Datawind Ltd., a leading manufacturer of wireless web access products and services had launched the Aakash tablet in India. The Aakash tablet with a price tag of Rs. 2500 was the cheapest tablet of the world. The company also launched a commercial version of the Aakash tab, called the Ubislate 7. And now, it is ready with an upgraded version the Ubislate 7+. It is also known as Aakash2.
Now Datawind is planning to release the Ubislate 7+ in UK. It may be released in UK this year. The device is planned to be sold at a price of £99 in the UK market with free Internet access package for a year through the Vodafone network.

Display and Connectivity:
It has a resistive touchscreen with a size of 7.0 inches. The tab is equipped with two full-sized USB ports that allow pen-drives, dongles, web-cams, external keyboards and other peripherals to be attached. Memory card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio is also provided. The company is also providing a USB port enabled keyboard and mobile car charger with the tab. But the user has to pay for these additional accessories. It even has a support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g, GPRS and an optional 3G modems.
Multimedia and Internet:
Full HD videos at 1080 pixels can be played. It also supports the UbiSurfer-Browser. The document reader of the tab supports PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, ODT and ODP document formats. It even allows Text editor and PDF viewer.
Memory and Battery:
The tab has a 256 MB RAM and 2 GB of internal memory. The storage capacity can be extended to 32GB through an external memory card. It facilitates a Cortex A8 - 700 MHz processor with Graphics accelerator for faster application support. It also sports a HD Video co-processor for high-quality multimedia experience. The 3200mAh Battery provides a standby time of about 3 hours. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
