Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games will be held from 3 October to 14 October 2010. It was declared that Commonwealth games will held in Delhi. On 10 February 2005, the Organizing Committee for Commonwealth games Delhi 2010 came into existence as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Government of India, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, IOA, and CGF signed Host City Contract and according to its clause 2, the organization of the Games has been delegated to the Organizing Committee Commonwealth games Delhi 2010 by IOC.

Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Village Photos - Venues for Athletes

Delhi is offering an expression of the hospitality, the Games Village to about 8,000 athletes and team officials from the 71 nations and territories of the Commonwealth. Games Village is spread more than an area of 63.5 hectares and it is bordered by a dense green natural cover. To provide a ‘home away from home’, XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 is designed to merge traditional Indian hospitality with international standards of comfort and excellence. The Games Village is situated along the east bank of the River Yamuna, between ITO and Laxmi Nagar.

Athletes and team officials can easily access to Games Village from all competitions and training venues. Additionally, it is situated in close proximity to some of Delhi’s well-known landmarks, such as the India Gate, Akshardham Temple, Baha’i Temple (Lotus Temple), Humayun’s Tomb, etc. The Games Village are kept open from 23 September to 18 October, 2010. The Residential Zone, the International Zone, the Training Area, the Main Dining, and the Operational Zone are included in the Games Village.

The whole Village is universally available for the requirements of Para-sport athletes. A joint venture between Emaar Properties PJSC (“Emaar”) of Dubai and MGF Development Limited (“MGF”) of India, Emaar MGF Land Limited develop Commonwealth games village Delhi. Commonwealth games village Delhi consists of 100% power back up, treated water supply system, CCTV in basement, main entrance and lobby. The complex would be entirely Wi-Fi enabled.
