No one knows about when life will take u-turn!!! Similar thing happened in the life of the youngest member of the celebrated "Magnificent 7" gymnasts, Dominique Moceanu. Before four years ago, she did not know that she has secret sister. But weeks before giving birth to her first child, she got the biggest surprise of her life when her father was dying. In 2007, she got letter from Jennifer Bricker, who was given up for adoption by parents as she was born with no legs. In the letter, Jen described that she was the Olympic gymnast's biological sister.
Now, this top secret has been revealed by Dominique Moceanu in ABC's 20/20 interview, which will broadcast on Friday night. During the interview, Olympian revealed that it was the biggest shock of my life when I knew about my secret sister. Dominique Moceanu married to Michael Canales, a doctor and fellow gymnast in 2006 and during her first pregnancy she got the life-changing package in the mail. In the package, they received letter and photos of a young woman who looked astonishingly similar to her younger sister, Christina.
After receiving a letter, Moceanu met her mother and ill father to confirm about the letter and she had shocked when their parents told her that the baby had been born the day after her sixth birthday. At that time, the financial condition of their parents was very poor and doctors told them the child would require expensive medical care, so they gave baby for adoption.
Currently, professional aerial gymnast is staying in Studio City, California. 24 year old Ms Bricker, who given up for adoption enjoys close relationship with her sister. Now, Dominique Moceanu has two children. She met her secret sister many time since meeting her for the first time. Both have more similarities like their voice tones, profession, handwriting, style of laugh, etc.
The younger sister of Dominique Moceanu had adopted by Sharon and Gerald Bricker in the small Illinois town of Oblong. Jen Bricker outshined as a youngster at basketball, softball, volleyball, and gymnastics. Bricker continues to smile with her happy life. She never says her parents made her feel handicapped. She has established her identity as professional acrobat and aerialist. At the age of 16, she had known that her idol gymnast is actually her older sister.
Both sisters are enjoying great relationships. Dominique Moceanu lives with her husband and daughter Carmen, 4 and son Vincent, 3 In Cleveland. Dominique appeared in Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and Jen started to watch her idol keenly. Bricker brought up with three other brothers in Illinois and became gymnast without knowing her parents and her famous sister, Dominique Moceanu.
