Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April each year. The first earth day was celebrated on 22nd April, 1970. It is not a holiday in any country but the Earth Day celebration does collect a fair amount of coverage in the press in U.S. Earth day was established through U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an ecological teach-in in 1970 and after that it is commemorated in several countries every year on 22nd April. Wisconsin: Earth Day Dinner
