The aim of eflow is to make the motorway work much better for you. Eflow is the service in which your electronic tag or vehicle number plate automatically records in cameras and detectors of eflow so you have to pass through the toll point at normal driving speed. You have to avoid queues and reducing stress and frustration.

BetEire Flow, a group made up of the French toll operator Sanef and French tolling system designer CS operates eFlow on behalf of the National Roads Authority.These two companies have experience of electronic tolling experience in Europe and North America over 40 years.

eflow provides a range of payment services to their customers. In payment services how can you pay for your journey? Types are available in this service.

  • Tag registration: this is very easy and cheap system for common users to pay to register for an electronic tag. You can also use tags from other operators. eFlow tags work on all other toll roads in Ireland. If you choose a pre-paid account then charges are automatically deduct from your account each time when you use the toll road. If you choose post-pay account then you pay the charges at the end of the month.
  • Video registration (M50 only): in this service you can set up your vehicle number plate based payment account, which will be debited for each journey you make. This post-pay account is also helpful for the customer because the customer have to pay the charge at the end of the month. Video registration with eFlow works for the M50 only. There is no monthly account administration fee for video registration.
  • Non-registration: If you are not registered, then you will have to pay for the duration of 8pm per day for your journey. If the deadline passes and you have not made payment at any Pay zone outlet then a standard toll request will be issued for payment.
  • Penalties: If you miss the deadline (8:00 PM) and a bill will be issued by post then you will have to pay additional charges for late payment.
  • Some other information: Some types of vehicles do not have to pay tolls on the barrier-free M50 because they are exempt. It includes :
    1. Motorcycles
    2. Specially adapted vehicles for disabled persons

Toll rates: Various toll charges apply to M50 users under eFlow barrier-free tolling. These rates depend on:
[1] Your type of vehicle
[2] Whether you are registered through the electronic tag or number plate systems, or non-registered
