The Group of Eight or G8 summit is held in the Italian city of L’Aquila from 8 to 10 July 2009. Leaders from US, Canada, the United Kingdom, France Germany, Italy, Russia and Japan are working on news strategies to prompt a smoother recovery. The host and eight leaders of major economies have reached along with their spouses at L’Aquila. This year the summit carries giant consequence as the world is reeling under economic slowdown and the following recession.
These all leaders would hold discussions about the economic slowdown, financial crisis, and global warming and food security. But many experts as well as major newspapers are saying that an expectation from this gathering is very low. Recently Daily Telegraph news paper of UK written in its editorial that, “The G8 summit is the lumbering white elephant of international statesmanship: expensive to feed, often aimless in its approach, and seemingly unsure of what it is meant to be doing.”
I think they will also discuss about the U.S. long-standing complaint about China’s policy of manipulating its currency to keep its exports cheap. 32nd G8 summit also focus on climate change, global economy and world hunger. Get More info Click Here.
