Now-a-days, ‘Beer Pong’ game is mostly played in the parties, at college campuses, or other sporting events. In the Beer pong game, the consumption of beer beverages are involved, so it includes in drinking game. The game can be only played by legal aged person. There are 2 teams of two players each and a variety of different rules required to play this game. Following the steps of how to play the Beer Pong are given.

For decades, Beer Pong game has been played especially in college crowds. Beer Pong is different from Beirut; there are many variations between them. Beer Pong plays with paddles and Beirut plays without it. At the starting of the game, each team is standing at either end of the table behind their rack of cups. Usually, the game is played on a ping pong table and folding banquet table. The game can be also played on any flat surface like a door or dining table.

Things that required to play the game:

• 16-oz plastic cups
• Beer
• A table
• 38 mm or 40 mm standard ping pong balls
• Two Teams

Follow the below steps to play Beer Pong:

Step 1:

Firstly, select two teams. You can also play the game one on one but Beer Pong is usually a 2 on 2 game. Then get a beer pong table. You can use any table which is at least 6 feet in length. An official beer pong table should be 8-9 feet long but 6 feet should be sufficient.

Step 2:

Obtain 16-oz Solo Cups and arrange cups into a 6-cup or 10-cup a triangle shape at the end of each side of the table. Then pour bear in each Beer Pong cups with a predetermined amount of beer. It will typically take 2 beers to fill ten or six Solo cups. You can use a little more or a little less; it all depends on how much you’d like to drink. Each team will have 10 cups.

Step 3:

You will need two 38 mm or 40 mm ping pong balls to play beer pong.

Step 4:

One team will start with both ping pong balls which can be decided by flipping a coin.

Step 5:

The game main aim is to stand at one end of the Beer Pong table and toss the Ping Pong ball into a cup on the opposite side of the table. You can use three ways to shoot in beer pong: the arc, the fastball (or "laser"), and the bounce shot.

• In technique of the "arc" shot, one grasps the ping pong ball with the tips of the thumb and forefinger, holds the arm at an angle with the ball upwards, then throw by using gentle elbow motion, holding the upper arm parallel with the table.
• In the "fastball" technique, the ball sends in a direct line to the intended target cup. A fastball shot technique may be favorable if house rules dictate a cup that is knocked over is taken off the table, in which case a fastball can eliminate multiple cups if thrown hard enough.
• A "bounce" shot technique is carried out by bouncing the ball toward the cups. Since (depending on house rules) the other team may have the opportunity to hit away a bounced ball, a bounce may be worth more than one cup. In some rule sets, bouncing is not allowed; in others, it is required.

Step 6:

One member will throw their ball first and then the second will throw theirs. If the Pong ball goes into a cup on a fly the opposing team must drink the beer in that cup. If the ball goes into the cup on a bounce the opposing team must drink that cup plus another cup. You and your partner will take turns drinking the beer. Opposing players may block your bounce shot once it has hit the table. Opposing plays can also touch the ball once it has made contact with a cup in effort to knock the ball away from the cups. For example: if you lose the game you and your partner would have drunk 5 cups each. The first person to clear all of their opponent’s cups wins the game of Beer Pong.

Step 7:

The game is over when one team or player has successfully made the opposing team drink the beer in each of their cups. When a team wins a double or triple drink score, the opposing team must select another drink or drinks from the table, in addition to the one the ball has landed in.

Beer Pong Scoring:

• If the lobbed ball lands in a cup is worth one drink.
• A bounced or deflected ball that lands in a cup is worth two drinks.
• If a team throws two balls that both land in the same cup, that shot is worth 3 drinks.

Rules of Beer Pong:

Some advanced rules to play Beer Pong are provided; these are considered Beer Pong house rules. To use the Beer Pong rules or not is depend on your taste.

• The same team continues throwing 2 balls per round until there is a miss. After the turn is completed, the opposite team throws at the first team's cups, and the process repeats.
• Bounce back rules can be used; allowing a team to shot again if the ball bounces back to them.
• If an opposing team member touches a ball after it initially hits a cup and then the ball continues on into another cup that will count as 2 cups.
• The object of the game is to make a ball in each of your opponent's cups. Keep playing until one team has no cups remaining.
• When the round is over, each cup containing a ball is drank by the opposing team, and is thus removed from the table. The remaining cups stay in their place. Usually, each team is allowed two "re-racks" per game, in which the opposing team is required to rearrange their cups in a pattern such as a diamond or a sword, making it easier to make shots.
• On the last cup the opposing team has a chance to "answer" by making a shot of their own if their final cup has been scored on. If they are successful in the answer attempt the game goes on.
• If the players are female, thus she is allowed blowing into a cup once the ball has touched the cup. Often the ball will spin inside the cup before it touches the beer inside it allowing the ball to be blown out of the cup.
• When making a cup, opposite team must drink the cup, if opposite team shoots on their turn before drinking cup made by other team, the game is lost.

Tips for Beer Pong’s players:

• All-ages groups can play this game if avoid the harmful alcohol, and replace the beer with a non-alcoholic beverage. For this game Apple cider is a good alternative, as its taste is somewhat similar to wine.
• In many games, the players can designate a "foul line" beyond which a player's hand (or elbow) may not pass when he or she is throwing the ball. This foul line is often designated as the edge of the table.
• The player will have aim for a specific cup. Even when you are throwing at large groups early in the game, if you do not aim for a single target then you will never get any better.
• Choose a table specifically for playing beer pong, i.e. island floaters.
• When your opponent is shooting, do not stand close to the table. If you stand too close to the table you give them a better perception of distance, and it will be easier for them to sink a cup.
• While everyone should develop their own style, the easiest way for beginners is repeatedly to put your shooting hand on a 90 degree angle and to ensure your arm goes straight when you throw.
• Before a starting a game, you make sure that your partner is good so that you do not have to make all the cups
• If you are playing bounce, fake distractions behind people and then simply bounce it easily into their cups.
• The largest factor in having a good technique is that you follow through. Your hand should not just release the ball into the air, but follow it through all the way into the cup that you are aiming at.
• Always be ready to hit away a bounce.
