The three point shot is an amazing feature in basket ball which every studious player would try his level best to make it. But it is not quite easy to make all the three fingers of the referee to swing downward. Anyone who are not much familiar with some striking facts about basket ball will be raising your eyebrows with the question, Three point shot- Is it that much difficult? Yes, of course the three point shots are not easy to shoot. It is indeed tough to make it.
First of all, no matter how near you think that the three point arc is from the basket ball hoop, what makes them still more difficult is that the distance from the hoop. The international distance for the basket ball hoop is 20feet 6inches. It does not mean that they are always impossible. Certainly the distance is too far and probably there are more chances for the ball to bounce back hardly. For the players with extremely good physical conditions, their movement of the ball covers a lager distance than the normal ones this means that whenever a three point shot touches the rim, it will almost never bounce inside the basketball hoop. The three point shot in basketball shooting is a long shot with a very small amount of imprecision in direction can easily make a basketball shot from nothing but net to nothing but air. If you shoot with the ball parallel with your ear or shoulder, it becomes much more difficult to get and stay on order. Also, since the distance is far, you most probably have to put more stamina which decreases the accuracy.
Passing the ball to longer distances in and out will create enough space for the outside shooter. Getting the way open is the initial thing for shooting a three point shot. Because when it gets often defense on the way then your release of ball will not be smooth. So the only trick to create space outside is by establishing an inside game which will draw and divert the attention and increases the outer perimeter. For all normal shots, the basket is to be set in way that it should in line with the shooting eye and the basket. But for three point shots it is still more important since even a small variation in the shooting angle will mislead the ball from the desired path.
The two vital things for a successful three point short is the amount of strength in arms and legs. Both hands and legs are overused here and a slight twist in this risk may steer the ball sideways from the path. If there is a situation to jump over anyone to shoot this shot, it is better to pass the ball over. Because a little hesitation in shooting the three’s will ultimately reduces the stamina in legs and hands and so it is wiser to make a try again than relying on the unstable power left.
