Guide to transfer music to Motorola Droid
With the huge leap in technology, smartphones are becoming a necessity in the lives of technology lovers. When shifting from one handset to other, people often face trouble in transferring music to your new handset. Even for the Motorola Droid, the latest smartphone in the market, this can be the problem. Thus, here I shall provide a detailed guide on how to transfer music files to your Motorola Droid.
Step 1. Insert your MicroSD card
This is a tiny flash memory card which is required for storing any information. Thus, in order to load music files to your smartphone, you need to insert the MicroSD card in the phone. Also the phone must be powered “On”.
Step 2. Connect Droid’s Data cable to your Computer
The data cable provided to you with the Droid is to be connected, at one end, to the USB port of your computer, and at the other end, to the extra cable jack on your phone. In case of loss of the data cable, most cellular stores provide the same.
Step 3. Mount the phone
Now, you need to tell your phone to start communicating with your PC. For this, slide down the notification bar and you shall see a “USB connected”.

Tap this and then the “Mount” button.

Step 4. Open the required folder in your Computer
For those of you using the Windows PC, you need to open the “My Computer”. There you shall see the “Removable disk”. Double click on that to view your phone’s MicroSD card.

For the Apple Mac users, the mounted device icon automatically arrives at the desktop of your computer. Double click that icon, for opening the folder of your MicroSD card.
Step 4. Transfer music files
Now, keeping the MicroSD card folder on your desktop open, you have to browse through your computer to select the music files to transfer to your device. When you select a file, drag and drop the file on to the open folder of your MicroSD card, thus copying the file on to it.
But, you must keep in mind about the file formats supported by the Motorola Droid. They are as follows-
MP3, AMR-NB/ WB, PCM/ WAV, AAC, ACC+, eAAC+, MIDI, WMA, and OGG Vorbis.
Note: Motorola Droid is not able to play DRM- protected files.
Step 6. Safely remove the data cable.
After the transfer is done, you need to safely remove the device by “eject”-ing it form your computer.

Thus, you can enjoy quality music through your Motorola Droid and listen to any music file of your choice.
