Recently, HP released a new video demo of the tablet, which is referred to as a "slate" by company. Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company is one of the world's largest information technology companies which specializes in developing and manufacturing computing, data storage, and networking hardware, designing software and delivering services. The major product lines of HP include personal computing devices, enterprise servers, related storage devices, as well as a diverse range of printers and other imaging products.
Slate Tablet was pre-announced by the head of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer at CES in January 2010. HP slate is having a full set of specifications for the mobile computer. Just few months ago, Apple’s iPad was also released, which has capability to do 140,000 things. HP slate has not such capability, but it offers low price, Adobe Flash support, excellent streaming capability, and extra big storage.
According to the information, Slate will have 8.9-inch screen with 1024 by 600 pixels and multitouch display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, a five-hour battery, Webcam, and a 3-megapixel camera. Also, the tablet will have 1 GB of memory DDR2, 32 or 64 GB of flash memory (depending on the configuration), WLAN Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and receiver GPS. Supposedly, the model will run Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, with a touch-optimized user interface created by HP running on top. Also, it will have an USB port, a SIM card slot for the optional 3G modem, audio and HDMI out to connect it to your HDTV or HD monitor.
Connectivity:
According to report, Hp’s tablet is going to offer Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth, a version with 3G cellular-wireless connectivity and a SIM slot. Also, it will have a 3.5 mm headset jack a connector for its dock.
Price:
The cost of HP slate is going to range from $550 to $600, depending on configuration.
Availability:
Release date of HP slate is not fixed, but it is going to hit market later this year
