The Indian market was already over flooded by huge number of Mobile manufacturers and retailers- Huawei the largest networking and telecommunications equipment supplier in the People's Republic of China and is headquartered in Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, has made a blistering entry into the Indian market with a launch not one but Twenty different handsets in the in the low to mid to the high-end price range. The devices are categorized in two groups the Hangout and the Android.
While the Hangout set consist of low to mid-range utility phones having host of unheard of features and working on the GSM/CDMA/UMTS technologies. The devices will target the mass of the country with the attractive price ranges and most of the expected features. ;The Android series includes series of smart phone right from affordable to high-end devices on Android. The Handsets in Hangout series are priced at Rs. 3000 onwards and handsets in Android series are priced at Rs. 7000 onwards. Currently, Huawei sells handsets in India through their business retail partners. For instance, the Huawei U7510 is a 3G phone that is already available on BSNL network. As per the new plans, Huawei will sell mobile phones directly to the open market using their extensive retail chain of electronic goods which indeed is well established in the country now. Huawei mobile devices will be designed for the mass segment, and the cost the devices are expected to be at the lower side. The handset maker has decided to make use of QUALCOMM Brew OS and the Android OS on the two phone segments respectively..
"The Indian telecom industry is growing at the rate of 20 million subscribers a month. Our entry into the open market will help us tap more growth opportunities in India," Huawei Device Chief Marketing Officer Victor Xu told reporters here. Asked about the new government directive asking telecom equipment-makers to deposit source codes and detailed designs for all their products the company said that it has received the notification-"We have received the notification and are going through it and after going through it, we should be able to comment on it," Huawei Telecommunications (India) Executive Director (CSSS) A Sethu Raman said.
The two devices that we could get our hands on were simply stunning- the Huawei U9130 Hangout and the U8300 Android phone. The Huawei U9130 Hangout carries is based on the Qulacomm processor and the new Brew OS and possess 2.4 inch screen with a Full Qwerty keypad with 3G networking available. The device also boasts social networking capabilities and all basic features that should be available in a low end feature rich phone.
The U8300 Android on the other hand is probably the cheapest touchscreen Qwerty Android phones that is available in the market the phone bears excellent specs and looks stunning too with its square tablet shaped design. The device supports 3G, GSM networks and WiFi, Bluetooth connections. Huawei U8300 also includes a 3.15 mega pixel camera with LED flash.
