For students, researchers, technologists and entrepreneurs this conference will provide an opportunity to interact on the existing developments and future trends in the multi-disciplinary areas of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

ICONSAT 2010 is the 4th conference and it is supported by the Nano Mission, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. The first ICONSAT was held on December 2003 at Kolkata, the second ICONSAT-2006 was held in March 2006 at New Delhi and the third ICONSAT-2008 was held in February 2008 at Chennai.

Before the conference following workshops will be arranged on the 17th February, 2010. Event information is given as under:

• Anisotropic nanostructures: Synthesis to functionalization at TIFR
• Nano world for high school and junior college students at IIT Bombay

How to get IIT of Bombay? Travel Guide:

The information of public transport, railway transport and ports is provided below. IIT of Bombay is situated at Powai and it is an eastern suburb in the north-eastern part of Mumbai. Mumbai is in the shape of a long narrow island. It can be generally divided into four zones.

• Central Bombay (Dadar, Bombay Central, Worli, etc.)
• Western suburbs (Bandra, Juhu, Andheri, Borivali, etc.)
• South Bombay (Colaba, CST, Fort, Churchgate, Nariman Point, etc.)
• Eastern Suburbs (Kurla, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Kanjur Marg, Vikhroli, etc.)

Public transport:

Mumbai is having the well-organized public transport networks which includes auto rickshaws, best buses, taxis and local train system to reach IIT from the nearest stations.

Railway transport: (Stations for train coming to Mumbai)

If you choose to travel by local train then please board the local train (Slow Local) at one of the stations from Kalyan / Thane going towards CST or CST / Dadar / Kurla going towards Thane / Kalyan. And the train comes to the Kanjur Marg. From Kanjur Marg you can get the auto rickshaw for IIT Campus. It will take nearly Rs. 30 to reach the campus.

Ports:

At Sahar Airport International flights land, which is approximately 7 kms from IIT. The Domestic Airport - SantaCruz is almost 10 kms. Pre-paid taxis are available at the airports. Autorickshaws and Pre-paid taxis are available for IIT at the airports.

Information of workshops:

Cancer workshop:

The objective of cancer workshop is to provide an exposure to the latest developments in nano science and technology which are applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. They will cover the following topics:

• Biodegradable protein, biopolymeric and lipid nanoparticles for drug delivery
• Thermo responsive nanomaterials for hyperthermia and drug delivery
• Nanoscale polymer capsules for drug delivery
• Magnetic nanoparticles for diagnostic and therapeutic applications

Anisotropic Nanostructures Workshop:

The main objective of this workshop is to provide an introduction to the newest developments in the fabrication, measurements, and the application of anisotropic nanostructures like nanorods, nanotubes, and quantum wires.

Imaging at nanoscale workshop:

This is one day workshop. They cover following topics:

• Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS)
• Micro-analysis using Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS)
• Energy Filtered Transmission Electron Microscopy (EFTEM)
