JMET 2011 : Question Paper, Exam Date Notifications & Results

Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) 2011 is qualifying examination that commences the admission process of the two year full time post-graduate programmes in management offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee. Candidates can apply for JMET 2011 to get admission in their selected institutes. Before applying for JMET exam, first refer the JMET 2011 important dates, programmes and eligibility, question paper pattern and the way of the application that is provided below. Indian Institute of Technology has released its notification for Joint Management Entrance Test 2011.

JMET 2011 : Question Paper, Exam Date Notifications & Results

The candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for JMET 2011 for any JMET’s participating Institutes. Candidate can apply for their limitless number of programmes. The result of the exam is decided on the base of to each partaking Institute to select potential candidates for carrying out its own selection process like Group Discussion/Interview. The final selection will depend on candidates’ performance in each of the components of the selection process.

Lastly, the qualified candidates from JMET can contact with the management departments or schools of the participated institutes in order to get additional information. When you decide to apply for JMET 2011, initially make sure about eligibility criteria to seek admission to the particular programme.

About JMET Examination:

The JMET Examination is taken in a single paper of three hours duration in English only. The examination will be set from 10:00 to 13:00 on Sunday, December 12, 2010. The JMET exam will be test of English, Aptitude/ Reasoning, and Basic Mathematics. This time JMET is seized by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Required application fees of SC/ST/PD candidates is Rs.350/- and Rs. 750/-for OBC/ General Candidates.

JMET Eligibility criteria:

For admission in various IITs Institutes, different eligibility criteria are required. Only Candidates who suit the eligibility criteria listed against the Management School/Department of each Institute can apply for the JMET examination. Students who currently study in their final year of qualifying degree course are also eligible to apply, and those candidates, if selected, then they will be admitted provisionally, and their continuance in the programme is subject to the completion of all requirements for the qualifying degree and submission of provisional degree certificate on or before the specific date by the admitting Institute. Important Dates of Examination:

Commencement of online application form submission: Monday 6 Sept. 2010
Last date of online application form submission (website closure): Friday 8 Oct. 2010 (6.00pm)
Last date of mailing the admit cards: Friday 12 Nov. 2010
Examination date: Sunday 12 Dec. 2010 (10:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs)
Results announce date: Monday 3 Jan. 2011

JMET 2011 Question Paper:

In the JMET exam, the question paper pattern is only objective type questions. Candidates have to just tick mark the correct option by darkening the appropriate box against each question on an Objective Response Sheet (ORS). All wrong answers will get negative marks. Each wrong answer will be deducted 25% of the allotted marks. The candidates have to complete their paper in 3 hours exam duration. The test will contain total 120 questions (objective / multiple choice types) in the four sections including Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation.

In Verbal Communication section, the comprehension and interpretative type questions are asked to test English abilities as a language of business. Under logical reasoning section, analytical reasoning, argument analysis, and analysis of explanation questions are included. To test the candidate's understanding of Basic Mathematics, the Quantitative Abilities related questions are asked. For assessing the ability of the examinee to make valid interpretations from a given data set, in Data Interpretation section simple tables, histograms, pie charts, graphs, and scatter diagram types question are included. On the day of examination, you should reach at the Test Centre by 9:30 with JMET 2011 Admit Card, without which you will not be allowed to take the test and Black Ballpoint pen, HB pencil(s), eraser(s) and sharpener(s).

JMET 2011 results:

The results of JMET 2011 will be declared on January 3, 2011 at 10:00 hours at GATE offices of IISc/IITs. The result will also be obtainable on the websites of IISc/IITs. The official website of JMET 2011 will give the JMET scores both to the qualified and to the non-qualified candidates. The JMET 2011 score is only applicable for one year from the date of announcement of the results. The qualified candidates in JMET result will be made available to interested organizations (educational institutions, R & D laboratories, industries, etc.) in India and also abroad based on a written request by the organization and on payment. The JMET scorecard will just be sent only to the qualified candidates.
