Kate Upton’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover was released on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday (February 13) in New York City. This 19 years old Florida girl is now a model on the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. This leggy 5-foot-11 stunner entered the modeling circles by posting her YouTube video last April doing the hip-hop dance at L.A. Lakers basketball game. Fortunately, the video received 3 million views including modeling heavy hitters of the fashion world, IMG. Later, they signed her up.
Kate Upton has set a remarkable example for girls of her age by showing that it is not necessary to follow the catwalks of Paris or New York City to be a Supermodel. Kate Upton, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition's newest cover girl became a Supermodel from the Internet. Last year, Kate was chosen as rookie of the year while Irina Shayk was on the cover. Magazine cover of 2012 is her second appearance in the annual SI issue that is same as the Super Bowl for models.
In her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit pose for the cover, she wore a tiny red-and-brown, sparkle-covered string bikini and the view behind her was of the waters of Australia. Kate leads a group of 18 models and 6 athletes who grace the issue's pages by being a Sports Illustrated new cover girl. The magazine had sent the models to interesting locations in Sydney, Australia, Cairns and Apalachicola for shoots. It took 51 days and 250,000 photo shoots before the selection of the final glamorous shots.
For Kate, healthy lifestyle includes examining the diet and working out regularly with a personal trainer. She doesn’t follow some special diet to prepare for a bikini shoot; even she prefers plate of fries or ice cream occasionally. During one of her interview, Kate revealed that she thinks that people are expecting to see personalities not just walking down a runway or just a face, perhaps they desire more. Kate has worked with Guess jeans and lingerie as well as Dooney & Burke and Beach Bunny Swimwear before being a supermodel. She admitted that she desired to be on the cover so for her it’s like her dream come true. Even she did acting in "The Tower Heist" film of 2011 and also playing a role of nun in her upcoming film "Three Stooges".
