Lightning learner Lee John Westwood was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire started to play golf just at the age of 13. Then his grandparents gave him a half set of clubs, and within two years he was crowned junior champion of home county Nottinghamshire. Father John, a math teacher encouraged him for the game at the same time. Lee played rugby, cricket and football at school and became known as a talented sportsman.
The first amateur tournament the Peter McEvoy Trophy was won by him in 1990. He named as player of the year for the 1998, 2000 and 2009 seasons. In 1993, He turned pro after winning the British Youth Championship and it has been ascending from there.
18 events have been won during his successful career by him on the European Tour as well as in America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
