This year many new and innovative gadgets have been launched and unveiled during the Mobile World Congress and Consumer Electronics show. Many companies like Acer, Nokia, Samsung, Micromax, LG, Lenovo, Lava and Sony showcased their devices. Lenovo also unveiled a tablet / laptop hybrid at the CES early this year. It is the first Windows 8 tablet of the company, which is expected to arrive with an ARM system along with an Intel-based option.
The company will be making two versions of the Yoga tab - one with an ARM NVIDIA Tegra processor and other with more powerful series of Intel processors. The ARM-based variants will have a longer battery life. As per reports, it can last up to 2 times longer than Intel-based variants. The gadget looks like a laptop, but comes with a rotatable screen which may be flipped over and folded in on the keyboard, converting it into a tablet.
The slab is a very portable device with just 0.67 inches in thickness and around 3 pounds of weight. It flaunts a 13.3 inch screen along with 8 GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. Intel-based Yoga tabs will cost around $1,199, however there is no information available regarding the price of the ARM-based variants. The IdeaPad Yoga is likely to launch around the same time when Windows 8 will launch on October 26.
