London 2012 Olympics seating plans

FaceBookTwitter

Only few days are left for the much anticipated sporting event of the year, London Olympics 2012 to begin. People all around the world are very much excited and thrilled to witness the biggest sports event. To fulfill the desire of witnessing their favorite sports events live, all sports lovers have already purchased the tickets for respective events without fail. As a result, millions of tickets were sold out as hot cakes. People have not hesitated to spend their hard earned hundreds of pounds in buying tickets for various events. However, the excitement has turned into disappointment by seeing the seating plans.

As per a recent report posted in London's The Telegraph, several fans are greatly dissatisfied with their sitting place. They have figured out their sitting place from the details given on the passes. They came to know that in spite of spending a big amount for tickets, their seats will not give them the clear view which they had hoped for. It seems that people who have opted for highest-priced tickets AA and A will get seats that are much farther from the main venue, which was totally unexpected.

The report has also mentioned about a fan whose name is not revealed. He had spent a whopping £725 for AA-tier passes for the 100m final to get excellent view of the competition. Plus, he purchased the ticket on the very first day when the tickets were put on sale, so that he could get the best chair. However, he was shocked to see that he has been given a seat in ninth row on ground level on the opposite side of the stadium.

Another spectator who had bought AA diving tickets for £450 was also taken aback to find that he has been given a seat that is more than 40m away from the diving board. Moreover, the fact which was even more shocking is that another spectator who had bought tickets in much cheaper C category costing £185, has been provided with seat that is at a similar distance of 40m away from the diving board. The only difference is that it is on the other side of the grandstand.

In addition to providing this unimpressive seating plan for spectators, the Locog (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games) has also failed to highlight any of the seating plans about the seating arrangements for international media & broadcasters and VIPs including politicians, heads of state and Olympic officials. Locog has also refused to comment on how many seats are reserved for above mentioned group at each event.
