Recently, Mahua Bangla a New Bengali Channel has been launched from Mahuaa Media Private Limited in Kolkata. The channel debuted on July 19, 2010. The Mahua Bangla channel logo and popular program list have also unveiled on that day.

This channel was also co-launched by P.K. Tewari, a chairman and managing director of the Mahua group, and Brazilian football legends Romario and Branco at the ITC Sonar in the Kolkata."Jomiye Din Saradin" is the slogan of Mahua Bangla channel, a new Bengali Satellite Television station that broadcasting in Bengali language.

For Mahua Bangla channel, Bollywood gorgeous actress Bipasha Basu, who is appreciated for her work in recent film Lamhaa, has been appointed as the brand ambassador. She appeared in palanquin Bengali culture and in a red-bordered white embroidered sari and red bangles at the event of launch.

This Bengali beauty is an actress who looks gorgeous in traditional Indian wear as she does in her hot Western clothes. On being associated with the channel, this actress expressed happiness and said, "My roots are in Kolkata. I hope that the channel will achieve success and make its mark."

She posted a message on her Twitter page “In kolkata to launch Mahua Bangla, a new channel! Excited about all the yum food I will get to eat".

P.K. Tewari said "Mahuaa Bangla will just not cater to entertainment but will strive to revive the heritage and value and at the same time bring newer thoughts and ideas to its viewers,"

"After to the success of Mahua in Bhojpuri, the channel has stepped into Bangla entertainment space. The channel will achieve the same heights of success following its senior entity" according to Aradhana Tiwari, Director - Operations of Mohua Media Pvt Ltd

The launch of Mahua Bangla was opened with a traditional Durga Vandana-Aradhana by Tanushree Shankar and her dance group, which was followed by a laser show. Bollywood actress Konkana Sen Sharma along with Bengali star Jishu Sengupta hosted the grand launch event where singers like Alka Yagnik, Bappi Lahiri & Deboji Saha also gave live performances.
