Maruti Ertiga 2012: New upcoming mini-MPV Car

Maruti Suzuki, the largest and most trustworthy car manufacturer of India has decided to launch Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in Indian market. The new Multi Purpose Car is known as Maruti Ertiga/ Maruti R3. In 2010, the concept of Ertiga was unveiled with the name of RIII concept at the Auto Expo in Delhi. It’s a 7 seater family car which is designed and developed in India. It will be a great competitor of Tata Sumo Grande, Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. Official launch date has been not revealed by the manufacturer but it is expected to launch in second quarter of 2012 with a price tag of Rs. 6 lacs to Rs. 9 lacs.

Maruti Ertiga 2012 is a great combination of everyday usability, styling and space. The defining features of Ertiga are fuel efficiency, low maintenance and spaciousness. This will be launched in both versions: petrol and diesel. This new generation mini-MPV car will fulfill the needs of big Indian families. It has 3 rows of seats, extended rear compartment. The front of this car is similar to Maruti Ritz while its roof is higher and wheelbase has been stretched from 380mm (on Ritz) to 2740mm. It will be available in 6 colors such as blazing red, midnight black, torque blue, silky silver, glistening grey and arctic white.

Maruti Ertiga’s petrol variant includes 1372cc (1.4-liter) K series engine which provides 95 bhp power and torque of 130 Nm while diesel version features 1196cc (1.3-L DDiS) engine which delivers 89 bhp of power and torque of 200 Nm. It will be available in 6 models such as Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LXI, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VXI, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZXI, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LDI, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDI and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDI. All the variants are highly fuel efficient and emit less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. ZDI/ZXI models contain dual tone interiors as well as 6 airbags.

Highlighting exterior features of this multi-purpose car are concealed rear lamps, elegant chrome grille, keyless entry, aluminium accents, adjustable headrests, and sun roof. For safety and security, Maruti Ertiga 2012 comes with adjustable seatbelts, central locking and anti-lock braking system. Other features of the car are air-conditioning system with heater, body color bumpers, adjustable power steering, adjustable seats, manually folding OVRMs, gear knob, remote fuel tank, power windows, trip meters, ABS with EBD, optional Airbags, parking sensors, leather wrapped steering wheel and rain sensing wipers. Its Alloy wheels provide sporty look to the car and a high ground clearance.
