Mukesh Ambani's New House Pictures of Mumbai

FaceBookTwitter

Mukesh Ambani, one of the richest men of India, is the owner of multi-million dollar home, Antilia. Antilia is located in Mumbai and the first billion dollar home of the world. Antilia is a twenty-seven floor (560 ft or 173 m) largest building and it covered about 400,000 square feet. Construction of Antilla was started by the Melbourne-based construction company Leighton Holdings but another company has finished the construction of Antilia. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon inspires Mukesh to construct Antilia. Cost of Antilia is expected to $2 billion (£630m).

Mukesh Ambani is set to move to his new billion dollar home, Antilia with his wife Nita, and their three children. A health club with a gym and dance studio, at least one swimming pool, a ballroom, guestrooms, a variety of lounges and a 50-seater cinema are also the part of Antilia. Antilia is constructed for Nita Ambani's birthday bash from Mukesh Ambani. It is expected that they will move to Antilia on 28 October 2010. People, who will be invited to the housewarming, can select various means of transport to get there. Antilia contains three helicopter pads on the roof and space for 160 vehicles on the lower floors for parking.

The celebrations will take place on upper levels and nine lifts will take the guests from the lobby to upper levels. The 53-year-old tycoon and his family live on the top floors, with a sweeping view of the city and out over the Arabian Sea. There is servants’ staff is of 600 to keep things running smoothly and to maintain the Antilia building. Estimated cost of Antilia is £44m to build but, due to astronomic land and property prices of Mumbai will be worth about 15 times that amount so its cost is £630m. One local businessman visited the building and said that Antilia is marvellous, and it is one of its kind of Picasso painting.

According to experts, Antilia is the only one private property of largest size and prominence in the world. Antilia has been built with local materials as far as possible such as an asymmetric stack of glass, steel and tiles with a four-storey hanging garden. The ballroom ceiling contains glass and gold chandeliers hangers. Interior design of Antilia was supervised by an American firm and is described as "Asian contemporary". Antilia is equipped with facilities like a health spa, and small theatre with a seating capacity for 50 on the eighth floor. The seventh floor of Antilia is for in-house vehicle maintenance.

  • 4,00,000 Square feet area

Everybody knows that he is extremely rich. Why then did he have to build such a big house to show the world. What will happen one day if at all his riches vanishes, might be in another 25 years time? How will his kids maintain it? The house also does not look like a house, it looks like a building disaster. he could have built a house for Rs 100 crores and donated it to the government to build roads and could have asked to name some roads after himself, so that his name will be remembered throughout history. He could also have contributed it to poor at least half of that kind of money.

All billionaires of India should build similar houses, to flow the gathered money by them to poor construction workers through construction companies. The featured house might have given employment to numerous workers for 6-7 years. it is not a little thing. if we cannot expect charity activities of billions from ambani-likes, at least let their money flow throught such snobery.

Can Ambani himself feel proud of staying in a building like this and calling it his house! It is no matter of pride but indomitable arrogance to a nation and to it's citizens. If at all he sleeps a day in it without fear! Will any one with a sense of social responsibility and respect to the millions who live ihomeless and n abject poverty feel proud of the 'hut' of Mr. Amban! It only embodies the hearheartedness and lack of national sensitivity of the Indian 'trillionaires' or 'billionaires' or 'millionaires' and their lack of social commitment. Sad face of Indian social commitment!
