Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon takes place every year in month of January on 3rd Sunday. Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2011 will be happened on Sunday 16th January 2011. For Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2011, the Registration Process has been started on 22 July 2010 and it will be ended on 1 September 2010. It has also been decided to give preference to timed applicants, who can complete the Full Marathon distance inside six hours and Half Marathon distance inside three hours in order to encourage the participation of serious runners in the full marathon and half marathon. For women, also 250 and 500 places will be reserved in Full and Half marathon respectively.

Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon are now open for the grandest, richest marathon in Asia. The participants get enough time to get prepared and raise their fitness standards by the organizers. So that, six months before the main event, the registrations have been opened. The registrations will now be done in a phased manner to make the registration process more streamlined.

The eligible age for the Full and Half Marathon is 18 years but for the Dream run and the wheelchair event, it is 12 Years. This monster of a marathon will have 38,500 places in the offing and participants coming from all parts of the world to compete.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chagan Bhujbal, actor and brand ambassador of the Mumbai Marathon John Abraham, Rahul Bose received the entry form for the Mumbai Marathon 2011 in a star-studded press conference on Wednesday. Website of the Mumbai Marathon 2011 was also launched by Actor Rahul Bose and John Abraham. Along with prominent personalities, athletes from foreign countries participate in the Mumbai Marathon.
