Miss India contest is considered as the biggest beauty contest in India. Every woman wants the win the Miss India title. The 20-year-old, Navneet Kaur Dhillon won the Femina Miss India title for the year 2013 with her hard work and determination. She defeated 22 beautiful girls in the glittering grand finale of 50th Femina Miss India 2013. The grand finale took place on 24th March, 2013 in Mumbai at the Yash Raj Studios. Indian television channel, Colors broadcasted the contest live. The 1st runner- up for the beauty contest is Sobhita Dhulipala and and 2nd runner- up is Zoya Afroz. Sobhita also won the title of Femina Miss Itimes Digital Diva and Rs.1 lakh cash prize.

Navneet Kaur finished her education at Patiala Cant’s Army Public School and currently pursuing her studies in media student at Punjab University. She is from Patiala, Punjab. Vanya Mishra, the winner of 2012 Miss India contest crowned the new Miss India 2013. The daughter of an army officer has even won the title of Pond's Femina Miss Glowing Skin and Femina Miss Timeless Beauty. The prime interest of Navneet is modeling but she also loves horse-riding, swimming and photography.
Femina Miss India 2013 will represent the country at Miss World beauty pageant. In an interview given to PTI, Navneet showed her interest in Bollywood and told that if she gets a chance, she would definitely work hard. In the last round of grand finale, Navneet faced the question of what would be her regret if she were to die on the next day. She rapidly replied that “the only thing I would regret would be not having done as much for society as I would like to. Issues of women's empowerment and child labour and other social evils are a big concern”.
As the competition was celebrating its 50th year, the golden colour radiated all over the evening. The golden colour was seen from the theme to the detail in the gowns of contenders. The golden jubilee year of the contest was judged by Karan Johar, Ritu Kumar, Asin, John Abraham, Shiamak Davar, Chitrangada Singh and Yuvraj Singh. 23 finalists were selected from Pune, Goa, Indore, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Delhi. All the finalists were from different professions such as modeling, acting, aeronautical engineering and yoga training.
The host of the contest was Manish Paul. The event was started with an entertaining performance by Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani. They came to promote their film, "Grand Masti". Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Priyanka Chopra gave dazzling performances as well as added glamour to the event. Sonu Nigam delighted the audiences with some heart touching numbers.
All the three tiaras are designed by PC Jewelers and loaded with significance. The Miss India World tiara includes a peacock feather in the middle, which signifies the national bird of India. The peacock feather is set with a shimmering pink-coloured, pear-shaped stone protected via a pave set diamond bed. The colourful nature and personality of the winner were represented with the multi-coloured stones used in the crown. The outer silhouette of the crown is a beautiful work of art between pink diamonds and yellow gold.
The Miss India Earth crown gets inspiration from the lotus petal and the curves of a woman, although in a metaphorical sense. The curves stand for the ups and downs that a woman faces in her journey.
