NDA stands for National Defence Academy. The National Defence Academy is a leading institute for the joining of the three wings of Indian Defence Services: Army, Navy & Air Force. Joining in the NDA is believed to be more important for any candidate. Since the defence services are highly demanding the entrance process is quite lengthy and very hard to get only the most suitable candidates. The main objective of NDA is to provide academic and technological training of the highest quality in order to equip trainees with appropriate qualification as a foundation for their service careers.
Admission Details:
NDA conducts exam two times in a year for admission. The admission process includes a written examination, multiple round interviews, Group Tasks and a Medical Test. NDA Entrance examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC will hold the NDA entrance examination on 18th April 2010.
Eligibility:
Only unmarried candidates who must have cleared 10+2 education level are eligible. Those candidates who are currently studying in 12th class can also apply for the entrance examination. Navy and Air Force candidates should have had Physics & Mathematics in Class 12th. Also a candidate must be more than 16 & 1/2 years and less than 19 years of age as on 1st January 2011. Additionally a candidate must be physically and medically fit according to the specified requirements.
Application form:
The UPSC have developed an application form common for all their examinations which can be processed on computerized machines, due care should be taken to fill up the application form, correctly, since this form is electronically scanned. This application form will be obtained from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country as listed in Appendix-III of Notice against payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). The application contains an information brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope to send application. Form can be used only once and only for one examination.
The information brochure which is supplied with the Application form must be used by the candidate to fill up the form and they should in no case use photocopy/reproduction/unauthorized printed copy of the Form. The properly filled application form and the acknowledgement card should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure.
