Bajaj Auto Limited, one of the largest vehicles producing company, is ready to play its second innings of success by launching a brand new Pulsar named as Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. It is made with best combination of style, speed and power. Probably, the new Bajaj Pulsar 200NS will hit the road by April 2012. The price of the much awaited middle class sports bike is yet to be disclosed, but it is expected that price will not be more than Rs. 1, 00,000. The Bajaj has become successful in bringing innovation in the new version of Pulsar. It features fresh and stylish design for alloy wheels, fuel tank, instrument cluster and side scoops making it lighter, stronger and faster. The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is expected to be available in two shades - red and yellow.
It is powered with a liquid cooled 200cc engine fed by a 33mm Mikuni carburetor, which can develop a maximum power of 23.17 bhp at 9500 rpm. It can have a maximum torque of 18.3 nm at 8000 rpm. The capacity of its fuel tank is 12L. It can be driven at a maximum speed of 136 Kmph. It consists of a six-speed gearbox with double down tube front end suspension and the rear gets an advanced Nitrox mono shock suspension. The engine has 4 plugs and 3 spark plugs. This is the first two wheeler ever made, with single cylinder and tri spark plug technology. The muffler located at the centre of the vehicle and the unique gas filled Nitrox mono suspension improves the handling and riding of the bike due to low and centralized CG position.
The outer dimension of the body is as follows: 2017mm long, 1195mm tall and 804 mm wide. Wheelbase is of 1363mm and ground clearance of 167mm. Its weight is around 145kg. The stunning frame work comprises of a pressed steel perimeter frame with a rectangular tube section swing arm increasing the lateral stiffness of the frame to three times better. The alloy wheels used is of 17 inch with a 280mm disc at the front and 230mm disc at the rear. And the front tyre is a 100/80 tubeless, while the rear tyre is a 130/70 tubeless. There is an exhaust outlet beneath the engine thus retaining its grandness. It is manufactured with an effective braking system with a 280mm front and 230mm rear disc brake. Design for split seat, headlamp, turn indicators and tail light are all new and stylish. Besides all these amazing features, it also gives an average of 58kmpl when ridden at a speed of 50kmph.
The balance and mass centralization is better than any other bike in the country, which makes the handling of the vehicle easy. This mass centralization is present as a result of the tightly packed engine along with the box shaped silencer wrapped around it in the front portion and the swing arm pivot in the rear portion. There is a near 50:50 weight distribution from front to rear, to be precise 72 kg: 73 kg, making the new Bajaj Pulsar 200NS the most well balanced bike in the market today. The engine is kept on a bracket just above the swing arm axle and to hold the engine from either side, there are two hangers. The 12-litre capacity fuel tank resides below and close to the rider’s seat.
