An innovative and upgraded Beat has been unveiled by Chevrolet which will come in the market at first quarter of 2012 with minor interior & exterior upgrades. New Chevrolet Beat 2012 has got an improved front look owing to fog lamp inserts, grille and a new bumper. The refreshed Beat also comes with other exterior changes such as rear spoiler, alloy wheels and new tail lights. There are some mild upgrades on the interior side also such as a new materials and finish, new LCD screen. Beat comes with attractive, youthful and eye catching design from its front facade to the back hood, with its big headlight.
The car sports a new Ecotec DOHC engine having 4 cylinders, 16 valves and it delivers approximately 108Nm peak torque at 4,500 rpm and max power of 80 bhp at 6,200 rpm. New Chevrolet Beat is also supported with variable intake geometry system that will make driving experience sprightlier. The acceleration rate of car is about 0-100 km per hour in less than 15 seconds with a max pace of about 158 km per hour. It is not so much impressive, but it is adequate for a small hatchback car. The engine provides a mileage of 18.3 km per liter on highway and 14.4 km per liter in city.
The chrome plated bezels of this car give a more elegant look to the car. The logo “Chevrolet” has been assembled smugly at the front of the car and the front fog lamps of the car make the appearance classy. Beat's window frames have been blacked out that aid in the funky appearance of car. The side profile of car somewhat looks like the Maruti Ritz and the Hyundai i10 at some extent.
The Beat comes with 14 inch alloy wheels which are available in the most excellent Beat LTZ version. The roof of Beat is also featured with silver rails, which go well with the whole design of the car. The back side of the car sports an integrated spoiler, a single wiper and crystalloid clear lens tail lamps.
The bumper of the car is also incorporated tidily with the overall design theme. Car’s interiors will be a little bit difficulty for heighted people in terms of seating; however they will get comfort through high seating arrangement. The protruding dashboard could be a one more difficulty for heighted people, but they can adjust the seats to get lumbar support. Thus it is less comfortable in the case of legroom space, but while talking about headroom space, the car provides more comfort.
This car features a ground clearance of 165mm. This is a user-friendly car to drive in a city and it can simply get all the bumps thrown at it. However on highway, its tall structure may be affected through the cross winds.
The car comes with integrated EBD and ABS that offer a great stopping ability. It also possesses exciting braking features; the rear gets drum brakes while the front wheels get disc brakes. The car also features three point seat belts, two air bags, intrusion beams at the side as safety features, and a steering wheel which is collapsible.
This car will hit the market in first quarter of 2012 at the price tag of Rs.3, 72,198 to Rs.4, 88,804 and it will be available in 4 different variants to select from.
