Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (RTDC) and the Indian Railways have started India's most luxurious train, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels in partnership. This train is scheduled to run each Sunday between October and April from Delhi. This luxury train will cover travel places in three states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This train will go to Agra, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Khajuraho, and Udaipur. As per RTDC chairman Pramod Sharma, the travel will end in Varanasi. The whole travel would be completed within seven days. Royal Rajasthan on Wheels has started its first travel on Sunday, 7 October, 2012 from Safdarjung railway station in Delhi. There were 61 foreign travelers in the train on its first journey.
This luxury train contains transportation capacity of 82 passengers in one trip, including 35 trainers. The train also contains a spa, deluxe saloons, gymnasium, specials suites, and two restro-lounges to make the trip really a 'royal experience'. The price of travel in this train will be Rs.2,14,760 ($4,130), and if you want to travel in the special suite, then you need to pay extra Rs.83,200 ($1,600) per day. This train is more roomy and grander than others so, it is superior in comparison to 'Palace on Wheels'. The train has lavishness that everyone would desire, the service has been truly fine and the team is really friendly, according to Sharma.
