2) Use public funds for health care devoted solely to NHS patients
3) Provide a comprehensive range of services
4) Shape its services around the needs and preferences of individual patients, their families and their careers
5) Respond to the different needs of different populations
6) Help to keep people healthy and work to reduce health inequalities
7) Respect the confidentiality of individual patients and provide open access to information about services, treatment and performance
8) Support and value its staff.

The NHS was developed by the Sowerby Center for Health Informatics at Newcastle. The NHS Appraisal Toolkit is an online portal for General Practice, Consultants and Staff Specialist Grade Doctors.
