Now's the time to look at the Nokia’s new Windows Phone enabled devices, Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, which have been announced on 26 October 2011 at Nokia World 2011. Both devices are packed with almost similar features, but people feel little bit confused, while they think to purchase it. The comparison between two devices becomes necessary to know which one is better in specifications and features.

Currently, the devices have gotten introduction from the company, so people can now get experience of the device from any retail stores. Nokia’s newest launch, “Nokia Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710” run on the most recent version of windows phone called as “7.5 Mango”. The price difference of both devices is very big (price of Nokia Lumia 800 is 11000 more compared to Lumia 710), so it can be helpful for people to choose better device. According to the price difference, maybe Nokia Lumia 800 will be better for people who need better display, better camera, extra memory and better battery life. Both devices feature the free voice-guided navigation, Nokia Drive, and a music streaming service, Nokia Music with MixRadio. Screen & Display:

The size and display of screen is essential part of any device that attracts people to get better visualizing experience. Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 share the similar screen size of 3.7 inches with different display. Nokia Lumia 800 is supported with AMOLED screen of Corning’s Gorilla Glass, which does not require any screen protector because it is a crack and scratch-resistant, while Nokia Lumia 710 comes with TFT Capacitive touch screen, which is faster compared to AMOLED screen but requires electron transfer and protector. AMOLED technology uses less power in order that phone can be used conveniently outdoors.

Weight, Colors and Dimensions

The Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 do not have much difference in their dimensions and weight. Lumia 710 (125.5g) is little lighter in weight than Lumia 800 (142g). The dimension of Lumia 800 is 116.5 mm in length, 61.1 mm in breadth and 12.1 mm in thickness, while the dimension of Lumia 710 is 119 mm in length, 62.4 mm in breadth and 12.5 mm in thickness. Dimensions wise, Lumia 800 achieves slightly better points.

There is many color options with Nokia 710 including Black, White (front)/ black, Fuchsia, White, Cyan and Yellow (back), while Lumia 800 has only three-color choices such as Black, Cyan and Magenta.

Processor, RAM and Memory:

Both phones share similar processor (1.4 GHz Scorpion processors), 7.5 Mango Microsoft Windows operating system, and Adreno 205 for supporting graphics. The devices own 512 MB RAM with different internal storage memory. The Lumia 800 has internal storage memory of 16 GB, while Lumia 710 has 8 GB internal memory. The main disappoint of the Phones is that User cannot expand the memory because Card slot do not come with anyone from both devices.

Camera and Video:

Are you eager to catch photo with high picture quality or shoot video of memorable days? If yes, then Lumia 800 may become a perfect choice for you, as it is equipped with 8 MP camera, which follows Carl Zeiss Optics. On the other hand, you have second choice as Lumia 710, which comes with 5 MP camera with geo-tagging, autofocus, LED flash, etc. If you are planning to purchase phone with video calling facility, then this device is not for you because no one from both devices is equipped with front camera. The Video shooting in both devices has the quality of 720p and frame rate of 30 fps.

Battery life:

Nokia is recognized for their long-time running battery. Each model of Nokia phone is packed with better battery-life feature. Lumia 800 comes with 1450mAh battery, which gives you 9.5 hours of talk time on 3G network and 13 hours of talk time on 2G network, while Lumia 710 comes with 1300 mAh battery, which gives 7 hours 40 minutes of talk time on 3G network and 6 hours and 50 minutes of talk time on 2G network. If you are traveling regularly with less battery charging options, then Nokia Lumia 800 is best as it gives very long battery-life.

Connectivity:

Lumia 800 and 710 supports both GSM and HSDPA network. The Speed of HSDPA is 14.4 Mbps that means fast downloading and loading. The connectivity choices like Bluetooth (v2.1), GPRS (class 33), WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n), and EDGE (class 33) are available on both Phones.

According to the feature and specification comparison, I personally recommend Nokia Lumia 800 because it is better in battery, camera, display and memory. However, the price of Lumia 800 is very high, so maybe many people cannot afford it.
