DBS Bank offers POSBank or POSB, which is a brand of consumer banking services in Singapore. POSB, a major public bank, started life as the Post Office Savings Bank, offering low-cost banking services to Singaporeans. The British Government launched the Post Office Savings Bank on 1 January 1877 in the General Post Office Building, in Raffles Place. Prior to independence, the bank was part of the Postal Services Department. DBS Bank acquired it in November 1998.
