Pringles Potato Chips May be Recalled

Proctor and Gamble recalls its two flavors of Chips because of hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) which is used for improving a foods flavoring. HVP contains Salmonella Tennessee bacteria which is produced by Basic Food Flavors, Inc of Las Vegas.

P&G has announced that it will recall two flavors of Pringle due to an ingredient which is used in the making of the snack food contains Salmonella. According to the reports still no one has been affected from the potentially contaminated foods but products which use the HVP also be recalled. So the customers of the Pringle chips just beware. Proctor and Gamble Company said on Tuesday that it is recalling 800000 cans of Pringles potato chips. The company has its personal slogan “Once you pop, you can’t stop”.

Company recalls its two popular flavors named “Cravers Cheeseburger” and “Taco Night”. So, if you have these two flavors at home then throw them away. Food and Drug Safety Administration (FDA) has freely recalled two types of Pringles chips because of salmonella contamination. It may affect the health of the customers, so beware at the time of purchasing Pringle. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein is an ingredient which supplied Las Vegas, Nevada-based Basic Food Flavors.

Customers of the Pringle chips are advice to contact P & G for replacement or for a coupon. You can call on (877) 876-7881 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

FDA said that, “Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.”
