The Pokemon World Championship is held annually and it is not just a simple competition; it is the Mecca of the world of Pokemon. This Championship is the place where Pokemon enthusiasts meet to watch the top of the top contend for the title of Pokemon World Champion and to participate in activities related to Pokemon. These tournaments are held for both the Pokemon video games and Pokemon Trading Card game. Above 400 players from more than 27 countries joined in this year’s tournament. The viewer places were filled with a lot of friends, parents and spectators.
Every time the Pokemon World Championships event provide an advanced of enthusiasm and dignity, but this year was particularly unique. Ray Rizzo of USA made a history by getting a prize in Masters League in Pokemon video game for the 2nd year in a row. Ray Rizzo is just 18 year old and he is from New Jersey. This Pokemon video game world champion had beat the competitors from all across the world in this championship. Ray Rizzo is not only a Pokemon collector, he is a Poke champion.
Rizzo is a 1st two-time winner in the 4 year history of this video game organization. Due to his efforts, Rizzo had got a range of prizes including First Place Trophy, all-expense paid trip to Japan, New York or Hawaii, and additional Pokemon items.
This greatest Pokemon player had shared his secrets how he became a true Pokemon master in an interview with Games Radar. Ray Rizzo said that he feels great by being the first to achieve something so difficult; he put a lot of time in these 2 years so it sounds good that this time is reimbursed. According to Rizzo, all of his games were really close because he played against the greatest players of world and he also played against a lot of his good friends, so it was hard to beat them. Rizzo had started to play a lot online for fun but after Nationals he begun playing more seriously.
Rizzo made a particular strategy on the whole while heading in the tournament. He had used multiple Pokemon having the move Thunder Wave for reducing the speed of his competitor’s faster Pokemon. He had trained his Pokemon so they would have high Defenses and high HP so they could survive through a lot of different attacks.
As well, he was also surprised when he saw the unique strategies from other players, mostly his Top 8 opponents. He remembers one of his Top 8 opponents who used a really nice Trick Room team that gave the toughest match on that day.
In addition, Rizzo also said that spending time with so many old friends, as well as meeting so many new people was his favorite moment in the whole tournament.
Rizzo is also pleased that he was only player who has used Unova Pokemon and this make the tournament different this year. The biggest change in the tournament was that there were not many strong defensive Pokemon; there were only a few Pokemon which were useful in battle.
From a competitive point of view, Rizzo like the Pokemon Black and White games as they bring in a lot of cool new items, moves, and obviously Pokemon. According to Rizzo, some of the Unova Pokemon are best and can contend with a lot of the older Pokemon.
Rizzo had gave the advice to everyone who wishes to challenge him to battle that not to be scared of using something atypical if it assists to oppose many of the common Pokemon strategies.
