Renault's new Zero Emissions (Z.E.) Electric Car Zoe is set to be sold on market in 2012. Company has confirmed that its price will be less than 15,000 euros (19,482 U.S. dollars), French daily newspaper Le Figaro reported.
According to French daily newspaper, the price of Zero Emissions (Z.E.) Electric Car Zoe is about the same as a diesel-fueled model of similar size, the cost includes a 5,000-euro credit from the government and the Renault Electric Car Zoe users will have to pay 100 euros per month to rent the battery for the car.
Le Figaro said “about 150,000 models will be produced each year at the company’s plant in Flins, France”
As soon as 2011, Renault plans to provide a full range of electric vehicles for its customers. Renault unveiled four Zero Emissions (Z.E.) concepts includes Twizy Z.E. Concept, Zoe Z.E. Concept, Fluence Z.E. Concept, and Kangoo Z.E. Concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Kangoo Z.E. Concept announced a light commercial vehicle, especially designed for professionals and expects to be available through the 1st semester 2011. Fluence Z.E. Concept prefigure an electric version of a family car that will be first launched in Israel on 1st semester 2011 and then in other countries.
In the beginning of the 2nd-half of 2011, a new type of urban vehicle unveiled Twizy Z.E. Concept. Passenger can seat behind the driver. The full-electric city car, close to Zoe Z.E. Concept will be sold on the market by mid 2012. It is ideal for commuting, measuring less than four meters long and with five seats. Renault Electric Car Zoe is the second of the four electric concepts that presented by Renault at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009 as a "zero-emission vehicle which can also possess a dynamic, edgy, attractive design". It is a perfect car for school or work run, or shopping trips. The car comes with 70kW electric motor that delivers 95 HP and 166 lb-ft of torque and helps to reach a top speed of 87 MPH.
The roof of the car is fitted with honeycomb photovoltaic cells to produce the energy that being used to power the car's systems. The battery of the Zoe is good when recharged for 100 km. It can be charged in three ways like standard (between four and eight hours), quick (20 minutes) and Quickdrop (change the battery all together). Scissor doors are fitted in the vehicle while the back entry provided by butterfly-style doors. The cargo space can be accessed from the side and from the back side in car.
