Roboni-i offers gameplay, for solo players, teams or online and it is designed by Zigbee. You and your friends can design a potentially continuous range of games and activities with these tiny two-wheeled powerhouses. Programming the Robot:

If you have used to working with Lego Mindstorms programming, then you will be very relaxed programming this robot. Drag and drop onto the working area. You have different items that you can drag and control the diverse variables. Before they feel relaxed working with this type of program, there is a learning curve in which one has to learn. With the drag and drop feature, it’s ‘easy’ but one has to get recognizable with all of the different items one can use, and how to change the variables to what you want the robot to do.

Robotic Gaming: (Play all of the following games right out of the box)

Single Player Games: Complete solo missions and sharpen your skills

Colors: Entry level game to initiate you to robotic gaming. It will teach you to control your robot, manage your robot’s energy, respond to game state information on your Mobile Controller, and play against time.

CodeBreaker: To gain access to the BaseStation, unlock the erratic security codes so the malfunctioning access control system can be repaired! To achieve this you only have 5 minutes before the errant system eternally locks everyone out of the facility.

MaxOut: Create the vast amount of electricity that will be required to test-fire LunaCorps’ first Large Scale Laser, all three power generating plants have to run at full capacity. Use your Roboni-i to cart in adequate quantities of ore from the diverse ore mines so all three plants can be in full production in time for the test-fire.

CounterAct: Before it spreads to adjacent facilities, Neutralize the contamination caused by a maintenance error at the BaseStation’s nuclear power plant. To enable technicians to affect the necessary repairs, use your Roboni-i to place Pods with protective shields at strategic locations in the contaminated zones.

Multiplayer/Team Games: Team up to outwit opponents and compete for resources

SpacePods: At the BaseStation for processing, collect and deposit the Pods – there are rogue elements at work that also want the Pods for themselves, so you may have to use your EMP gun and SFX counter effects

ConQuest: Cripple the rogue element’s electricity supply by taking over and disabling all their power generating plants! Make skillful use of booby traps to prevent them from reclaiming and activating their power generating plants

Overload: Before it permanently damages the BaseStation’s computer system, stop a malicious virus. Collect data from the UniHubs and deposit it at the BaseStation before the virus causes irreversible harm

Note: This product is only well-suited with Windows XP (SP2), Windows Vista, and Windows 7

Pros:

Robot can communicate with 3 other robots.
Robot can be easily programmed with drag-and-drop interface.
Online playing with other people is pretty cool
Command center is easy to navigate and program the robot.

Cons:

Can’t add a sensor. You are limited to work with the sensors on the robot.
In order to have real fun, you would have to purchase another one to battle it out!
You will need a total of 12 AA batteries. It is recommended to buy rechargeable batteries with 6 high-capacity batteries for the robot itself.
Netbook has a max resolution of 1024x600. Certain buttons aren’t available due to the program not auto-sizing for the smaller resolution. Easy fix with a program update.
