Have you heard about Rokon Trailbreaker Motorcycle? Rokon Trailbreaker Motorcycle is one of the most reliable and versatile motor mobile for 50 years. It is considered as an American classic. Rokon is a Rochester, new Hampshire-based motorcycle manufacturer that builds unusual 2-wheel-drive off-road motorcycles which are sometimes referred to as Moto-tractors.
Riders have been taken by the ROKONs for over 50 years to places that no other vehicle can. Along with wide tires and a high ground clearance, sure-footed traction and lots of pulling power is delivered by ROKONs which is rugged and lightweight. For work or recreational activities of ROKONs, some fifty accessories complete the ROKONs unmatched versatility.
It was during 1950s when a unique motorbike was invented which could take you at unreachable places by California-based inventor Charles Fehn. The success of this motorbike lied in its unique style and design. Total of 50 accessories were joined together to form such bike. An off-road vehicle was wanted to design by Charles Fehn and for that purpose he invented this two-wheel vehicle whose wheels were hollow. You may call it bike but the name Mototractor suits it more.
Then design of Rokon motorcycles use a combination of belt, chain, and shaft drives coupled to gear boxes to drive both the front and rear wheels. A West Bend (US Motor/Chrysler Marine) 820 2-stroke engines (134cc) powered older machines, while either a Honda or Kohler engine of about 6hp contain by the newer bikes.
Collector interest in these very unusual motorcycles has risen considerably following the 1998 creation of the web site Rokon World by Bob Gallagher. These are slow-speed off-road motorcycles designed for use in the most rugged terrain. Some are capable of 35mph or more, but typical top speed is about 20 mph. Current models are the Trail-Breaker, Ranger and Scout.
Trailbreaker is used in, Desert Storm by US Special Forces, is very use by US Forest Service and some 25 states Fish and Game officers, and also used by treasure seekers. Up to 9 hours on one fill up of the almost 3 gallon tank is operated by the Rokon and run its classic work horse four stroke Kohler engine where ever you need to Trail-Breaker is automatic and is operated by hands only.
