Samsung 3G B7722: Dual-SIM feature-rich phone to come to India

Coming from the abode of the world's second largest multinational, Samsung, the Samsung 3G B7722, and is the most costly dual-SIM phone available yet. The cost is due to its high end features, and this is among the first high-end dual SIM phone in the market. With the market growing towards the trend of dual SIM phones, this would-be launch by Samsung is surely going to attract the feature-rich lavish phone-lovers seeking dual SIM facility.

The sumptuous features of the Samsung 3G B7722 handset include 3.2 inch TFT touchscreen with the support of 262K colours and 240 x 400 pixels resolution. The phone weighs about 112 gm., and is of the dimensions 113.5 x 55.5 x 14.3 mm. The looks and design of the phone is quite attractive and appealing, and does boast of making a style statement of its own.

The noticeable facets of the Samsung 3G B7722 comprise of 5 mega-pixel camera with the support of 2592 ? 1944 pixels resolution and LED Flash, accompanied by QVGA video recording at the rate of 30 frames per second, and is accompanied by a secondary camera. This does seem to be rather alluring. Moreover, the device provides provision for Stereo FM radio with RDS and allows FM recording.

The Samsung 3G B7722 also is java MIDP 2.1 enabled and provides the dual-SIM feature (GSM + GSM) with dual standby mode. Moreover, the 2G networks supported are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 by SIM 1, and GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 by SIM 2.  With respect to 3G networks, the phone supports HSDPA 2100 but this 3G connectivity is only provided by the SIM 1, and not by the SIM 2.

In terms of data connectivity and transfer, the phone has loads to offer. The Samsung 3G B7722 handset is not only going to support Class 12 GPRS (4+1/3+2/2+3/1+4 slots) offering 32 - 48 kbps, Class 12 EDGE connectivity, 3G enabled HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, but also connection over Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, and is Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP enabled, a micro USB port v2.0, though the handset is not accompanied by an infrared port. The phone also supports the Micro SD card, which can accommodate up to 8 GB.

The Samsung 3G B7722 mobile phone is being provided with messaging features as SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM, RSS, a browser which supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, and is being only available in Black. The phone does not support GPS though. The other aspects include MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player, MP4/H.263/H.264 player, Document viewer, Organizer, Voice memo, with a Standard battery, Li-Ion 1200 mAh, with a stand-by time of up to 420 hours, and a talk time of up to 12 h 50 min.

Being announced a few days ago in June 2010, the Samsung 3G B7722 has been confirmed to be released in India, after its recent launch at Sweden. The gorgeous feature-heavy phone, along with a price tag of INR 23,000/-, does have the potential to steer the dual SIM market a long way. But will it connect to the Indian market; this is yet to be found.
