Samsung:

Samsung has already introduced its Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich operating system at a Google/Samsung combined news consultation in Hong Kong on 19th October 2011. Now, it plans to offer the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its other GALAXY devices. Android got completely new appearance with Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich contains a full Web browsing experience, a redesigned user interface with enhanced multi-tasking, notifications, NFC support, and Wi-Fi hotspot. A new people application is also featured in Ice Cream Sandwich by which users are allowed to browse pictures, messages and social network updates from friends, family and co-workers.

Fun effects can be used by users while shooting video or video chatting with Google Talk. GALAXY Note, GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 10.1 are the ICS-upgradable devices. GALAXY S II and GALAXY Note’s platform update will be begun in the first quarter of 2012, and soon other GALAXY devices will come.

LG:

LG tells its plans for various devices with Ice Cream Sandwich that will be come in the second and third quarter of the year 2012. LG 3.0 Prada Phone, LG Optimus 2x, LG Optimus LTE, LG Optimus Sol, LG myTouch Q, and LG Eclipse will come in the second quarter of 2012. LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus Big, LG Optimus Q2, and LG Optimus Ex will be launched in third quarter of 2012. LG smartphones with Android 4.0 will come with new features like a wholly refreshed interface, Android Beam, Face Unlock, and many others. LG will be taking all the measure to provide a smooth OS upgrade in an opportune method. Every country has diverse needs depending on the carrier and the smart-phone model so the correct start date can differ in the various markets. But the LG Nitro HD, the G2X, the Thrill 4G, the DoublePlay, the G-Slate and the MyTouch are the smartphone that are not included in this list.

HTC:

Taiwanese giant, HTC has shown its prevalence for the upcoming devices that run on Ice cream sandwich OS update. HTC has apparently verified that Ice Cream Sandwich will be used in first quarter of 2012 in various devices such as HTC Vivid, HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL, and HTC Sensation XE, HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, and HTC Amaze 4G. This list does not include very popular HTC Desire series such as the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z but the reason behind this is the carriers have to put the phones through severe testing previous to its approval to the release.

Sony Ericsson:

Sony Ericsson will launch Sony Xperia devices with Ice Cream Sandwich at the end of March or starting of April 2012. As per Martina Johansson of Sony Ericsson, Sony's developers are busy in combining recent Xperia software with the new characteristics in Android 4.0. Developers will update the whole 2011 Xperia portfolio to Android 4.0 like part of it’s subsequently software upgrade. The first Xperia smartphones will be upgraded to Android 4.0 beginning from end March/early April 2012. Smart-phones that will get upgrade first are Xperia neo V, Xperia arc S, and Xperia ray.

Xperia active, Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia neo, Xperia pro, as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will get their upgrades in starting from end April/early May. The update process is also outlined in brief by Sony Ericsson, in which it indicates that there is many building, testing, and adapting to carrier necessities before deploying to customers. Motorola:

Motorola company is now planning to launch handsets that run on Ice cream sandwich OS. Motorola Razr, Motorola Droid RAZR, Motorola XOOM, and Motorola Droid Bionic are the devices with Android 4 update. As per Motorola's senior vice president portfolio and product management Alain Mutricy, the Motorola Droid RAZR will be launched in early 2012. As per a December 7 post on the Motorola website, Droid Bionic and all Xoom tablets will be promoted to ICS ultimately. However, updates on the Droid X or Droid 3, the Atrix 4G or the Photon 4G are not disclosed by Motorola.
