The back to back phone launches by one of the market leaders in India, Sony Ericsson, might be a part of their market policy but it has given the Indian consumers something to cheer about. The New Vivaz Pro smartphone launched by Sony Ericsson is as trendy as its name. The phone has a full QWERTY keypad and slider to add glamour to its looks.
The phone is a pro version to the already existing and famous Vivaz but is nowhere short on performance. However there are a couple of differences in the hardware, though. The original Vivaz did not support a full QWERTY keyboard which has been added in the Pro version and the camera, which was 8 MP in the original Vivaz, has been cut short by 3MP and made to 5MP now in the Vivaz Pro edition. But, these changes are not really going to reduce the performance of the device which still remains to be awesome.
The screen of the device supports 16 million colors, handwriting recognition and a scratch resistant surface that protects the screen from unwanted fingerprints and scratches. The device has no compromises on the battery life and is going to support the same battery life as that of the original version. The phone is capable of 720p HD video recording and has a 640 x 360 touch screen display. It runs on the Symbian S60v5 and has a 720 MHz processor which provides excellent speed to the applications installed in the device. For, internet connectivity the phone supports 3G networks and EDGE technology not very advanced but quite good as far as the Indian market goes.
The Vivaz Pro handset provides an Auto rotation feature and photo call facility which can make any other handset envy of the new Vivaz pro. The phone provides 3D games, Facebook and Twitter Applications, you tube, video streaming and viewing, and uncountable no. of software applications .The phone even incorporates the GPS feature, Google maps and Wise pilot turn by turn application.
The phone has a TV out port with which it can be connected to any VGA quality TV and the videos can be directly viewed on the TV screen rather than the phone screen. The phone comes preinstalled with Quadrapop, Rally Master Pro, and World Mate – world and weather app, Quick Office, and the trial version of a PDF viewer. The internal storage of the device is a paltry 70 MB but that can improved by using the micro SD cards. The phone comes packed with an 8 GB micro SD card and the memory slot supports a card of up to 32 GB size.
The Vivaz pro handset costs around Rs. 25,695/- in India and comes with a 18 month contract with O2 which offers 300 minutes of talk time and unlimited texts. The looks and the feel of the device certainly make it an eye catcher in the market but the features of the phone don’t seem to be overly great and actually do not satisfy the price tag along with it. But, for those who have a crush for good looking phones these may just be the right option .
