These days, so many vehicles are on the roads so parking has become a headache. Considering this aspect, Tata Motors, a leading car manufacturer of India, launched the Tata Nano. It was first small car of India which may be easily parked in a most congested area and fit the budget of a common man as well. As the petrol prices are raising more and more everyday, the demand for diesel cars has been increasing consequently. So, Tata Motors is here once again to help the common man. The much adorable Tata Nano is coming with a diesel engine now. The Tata Nano Diesel is expected to be the most fuel efficient car of India combining power, style and performance with an affordable price.

The look

Look wise, the diesel Nano is expected to be much similar to the recently launched 2012 Nano. A diesel badge may be added to differentiate it from the petrol version. Adjustable front headrests and improved seat cushions are possible to be included. The suspension system will be fine tuned to carry the heavier diesel motor at the back side. Also, the car is expected to have better interiors. It is hoped that the car has better bolstered seats, better interiors and better upholstery. It is also expected to be coming with a re-worked suspension and power steering. Central locking, front power windows and front fog lamps are the features that may be inherited from the petrol version of the car. Tata may also provide a boot door to easily access the boot space. As noticed in the rumored car, it seems that bumpers have got a modification and exhaust pipe has been moved from the center to side.

The performance

The engine of Nano diesel is believed to be the smallest diesel engine in the world. The diesel car will have a CRDI Diesel Engine from Bosch. The engine may be a 0.75 litre engine with a maximum power output of around 30 bhp in 5-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank may have a 15 liters capacity. It has a peak torque of 110Nm matted with 4 speed manual transmission. It gives the performance and fuel economy of a typical 180cc motorcycle. The company promised for a mind blowing mileage of 40 kilometers per litre with a top speed of 105kmph. The car has 2-cylinder, 700cc engine which develops healthy power without compromising on fuel economy.

Price and Availability

The Nano diesel will be available in 7 colors including aqua blue, meteor silver, papaya orange, pearl white, mojito green, rouge red and neon rush. The car may get a price hike of around 15 to 20 percent as compared to the petrol version. The price of the car may be ranging from 2 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs. The ex-showroom price is expected to be over 1.5 lakhs whereas the on road price may be around 1.65 lakh rupees, depending on different states. The car may be unveiled at the end of 2012.
