UbiSlate tablets Available to buy at price of Rs 2999 & 3999 in India

There is good news for people who are waiting for Ubislate tablets. Datawind has launched two tablets named the Ubislate 7+ and the Ubislate 7C in Delhi, India on 26th April. Both the tablets have almost same features and specifications. These tablets are low-priced and based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. These tablets are planned for 3 main functions such as multimedia consumption, routine computing and wireless web access. You are required to pay Rs. 2999 for Ubislate 7+ and Rs. 3,999 for the Ubislate 7C. In Ubislate 7C, “C” denotes capacitive.

Ubislate 7+ comes with 7-inch resistive touchscreen and 2 GB in-built memory whereas Ubislate 7C features 7-inch four-point capacitive touchscreen and 4 GB of storage. This is the main difference between the tablets. Other than this all the specifications are same. Both the tablets include Cortex A8 800 Mhz processor, same screen resolution (800x480 pixels), in-built GPRS modem, 256MB RAM, 3.5 mm headset jack and WiFi capabilities. They have 3200 mAh battery, which provides usage upto 180 minutes.

These new gen UbiSlate devices sport DataWind patented UbiSurfer browser. They feature micro USB slots to expand memory, a USB port and a separate video processor to deliver HD video. Different languages like Tamil, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and few others are supported by the tablets. They are pre-loaded with apps like educational apps - soft copy of text books, Intelligia, etc.

The company has partnered with Yahoo, The Indian Express Group, Aircel, Get Jar, InMobi, Pixatel, MyJobs, PokeTALK, Reverie Language Technologies, RKS Learning and Blueworld to provide educational content and apps for easy access. The tablets have preloaded the GetJar app store to download apps; Wikipedia app; Indian Express news app and the users will get 50% discount on annual subscription as well as Yahoo! Cricket & the Yahoo! Mail app. The default browser homepage for Ubislate 7+ will be Yahoo! India Homepage.

The tablets will provide unlimited web-browsing for Rs. 98 per month on Aircel for anytime, anywhere internet access. Accessories like dust cover, Neoprene sleeve, silicone cover and screen protector are also launched for both the tablets. More than 30 lakh people who pre-booked the UbiSlate 7 from the Datawind website have started receiving the tablet. Both the tablets will be available at retail stores from end of May.
